Lol, that's just how it goes sometimes
-
Huh, wonder where all those foils are from then.
-
No bident of thassa in the dual decks, no, sadly. That'd be awesome.
-
Yeah Elspeth and Kiora are my two favorite walkers, basically. I have a bunch of duel deck Elspeth copies and I think the pile of foil alt art bident of thassas are from there too?
-
I do love Elspeth, she too is a really interesting character, (Also one of my first PW's, I bought the Elspeth vs Kiora duel decks) and important to Ajani's story.
-
Interesting. I've read through some of the stuff with Mirrodin, Venser and Karn and Tezz and Melira and Elspeth and Koth and all them. But that was mostly because Melira and Elspeth interest me a lot.
-
Yeah, so here's the gist of it
Urza is the original planeswalker. He was an incredibly powerful mage who split the meekstone and mightstone with his brother, Mishra. Both were genius inventors (hence why both Urza and Mishra have factory cards) but as Urza used his power for good (arguably) Mishra instead was corrupted by the Phyrexians. They had a giant war, Urza killed Mishra, that fueled Urza's spark.
Eventually Urza founds the tolarian academy, which trains Teferi and several other well known Walkers. He also built Karn at some point to be a master of all of the types of magic (hence why all Karn uses in all printings is Generic Mana, he can use anything). Teferi gets caught in a time bubble, which is why he seems younger than his daughter in the domi planeswalker decks, and when Urza dies, Karn, who I believe had already created Mirrordin by that point, inherits his spark
-
I don't know much about them other than what Wotc wrote in the new dominaria stories, unfortunately. The weatherlight stuff is supposed to be pretty cool and I might investigate it further at some point.
-
Though calling Karn Urza's disciple isn't quite the most accurate thing I suppose, still he did learn a lot from his creator
-
Yeah understandable. Like I've done a bit, mostly because I wanted to know more about Urza, Karn, and teferi, the OG walker, and his two most badass disciples.
