AHHHH they just made me work 15 hours! I am not a happy girl right now. I want to sleep forever! ><
I had coworkers I really liked at Walmart, but we were so split up most of the time we never got to work with each other very much.. My bosses and management were what really put me over the edge though...

I mean working big companies like Walmart are more frustrating than something smaller like OfficeMax. Like I said, I absolutely loved it there. I was very rarely ever stressed or upset at work. I always got things done and they were always done right the first time. I loved every second of that place. I had a great team, we all worked well and worked well together, no matter how short staffed we were they days never felt bad. Yeah you might get one or two irate customer's here or there, and the occasional drunk or druggie, but most of the time it was super chill.

I don't really know since it was my only retail experience.. I know I didn't like it, however.
-
Honestly that is like most retail. I was never in my department at OfficeMax. I always ran around the store more than members of management did.

At walmart we weren't ever allowed overtime, but they also never provided enough people, so we always ended up not even working in our departments..

Trust me, I dealt with a great deal of that when I worked at OfficeMax years ago. I mean legitimately some real assholes came in. On top of that, we had two or three people quit the sane week during back to school season which is our busiest time. Guess who always answered her phone and showed up, even though her boss was being yelled at because she was getting too much OT? Here's a hint: it was me. My boss scheduled me 10 hours, he told me no matter how much he begs, pleads or cries not to answer my phone and come in. I batently ignored him the following day and by the end of the week, he got like 72 hours and I had like 74 or som a lot of 10 to 16 hour shifts, no lunch breaks, no potty breaks. It was really fun. I personally loved it. Again, the boss I liked left and was replaced with asshat so I had to quit after over 2.5 years.

It just wasn't worth the mental stress dealing with management that doesn't know what they're doing, having a shortage of people, and also dealing with customers who were sometimes very... rude.. putting it mildly..
-
Oh my. I have heard a lot if bad things about Walmart. One of my friends was actually just fired because he got angry and punched a wall and broke it. My other friend quit because he found a job that pays like $15+ per hour.

I used to work at walmart a really long time ago, and that was my last retail experience lmao! I only worked there for 6 months.

Fair enough. I truly enjoyed retail at Office Max until our old store manager left and we got a new store manager from another store and he was a royal ass. He spent his entire day on the phone to his wife. It was annoying. If not for him, I never would've quit.
