Them being in a wheelchair is fine.

A lot still. They would just be in a wheelchair with controls. or have futuristic boots that allow the to walk like Professor Xavier in that one series.

Will they still be able to do stuff? I don't exactly want to be the one that has to do absolutely do everything.

That sound perfect to me. Could my character still be paralyzed?

That sounds like it could work. Make they decided that they could use an assistant, and that's where my character would come in as a robot/android, or what have you.
