I do not see that ad a beating all I see is that teaching a kid not to to an act of violence by doing an act of violence no matter how small doesn't make sense. You can debate it all you like I won't even try to stop you from spanking but me i will never spank that's all there is to it

Wrong I was taught respect in everyway possible and they did try everything else they could legally done before they resorted to the last well resort the spanking method on the kind of stuff that I mentioned it was used for. Which not just from my experience but from what I've read via books and talking to others it seems some kids just don't get it through there head not to do something like I mentioned without something like a spanking or similar method. Bty no offense to you but the way you speak of spankings kinda makes me think of you like those idiots that see 10 swats on the ass as being a beating when no damage is down to the body at all and all you have is just abit of a discomfort for a short bit of time

A spanking was the only thing that worked because you were taught fear rather than respect sadly otherwise you would have done it out of respect no offense to anyone involved but I am very against the idea of spanking children .

On the physical punishment; what if say the character is like 9 years old and nothing else works but a spanking? I know when I was growing up my parents tried everything else to punish me when I'd intentionally break something,tear stuff up harm someone stuff like that without good reason when it wasn't okay. Which a spanking was the only thing that worked to teach me not to do that kind of stuff .

As long as their are set rules and adult power if far more than enough to control the attempts of children it works for me

Well to get technical pretty much anything can cause overpowered things and godmodding if not handled right. All you really need to do is basically set rules so overpowered and godmode level stuff doesn't happen in what you want

For a common misconception on my fav fiction type is fantasy to be more specific the magic genre of fantasy is nothing is out of reach or easy to godmod stuff but its false as I've read alot of books in that genre and well its common to have nearly unbreakable rules and limits on the magic in the books system if you know what you're looking for in the book you have.

Heck a Scifi series most don't realize is Scifi is X-men do to the fact of the matter x-men for ages was almost purely just based on the fictional ''X''gene which gives powers or just altering you in same way when awakened but not magic.

So aside from none humans what other kind of fictional stuff would you allow in the rp if any? By fictional stuff I mean other types of things known in fiction I ask seeing as your thread was kinda misleading in what you want(if you look at the thread you'll get why I'm asking on fictional stuff)
