My mother told me about her experiences with spirits a while ago. One of them was when I was just a baby. I was my father's only biological child, and my brother was a different man's child. My mom was only 18, and they lived in an apartment. I was sleeping and my brother was visiting my grandmother. My mom was watching tv, and she saw a man leave the kitchen. She got up to ask him what he was doing in her house, and he walked to the sliding glass doors and disappeared. In the house I live in now, my little brother who is only 11 was in his bedroom. He doesn't have that bedroom anymore, but he was sitting in there by himself. It was his very first experience, so he didn't think anything was wrong. He saw a hand reach out from behind him and it tried to gag him. Before it could he screamed as loud as he could and ran out into the living room where everyone else was. One of my experiences was when my brother thought I was crazy. We were sitting in the room we shared at the time. We were pretty young, we were both probably 10 years old. He was telling me how ghosts didn't exist, and it was only the dark I was afraid of. I tried to convince him that they are, but he didn't believe me. Then I saw an old man (VERY old man) walk out of the closet and turn the television off. I screamed as loud as I could, and ran from the room. Afterwards, my brother tried to convince me that it was just the timer on the tv, but I didn't believe him. He didn't believe me either. One time when I lived in an old apartment with my pregnant 21 year old mother, and my brothers, my mom was sitting on the couch. She was about 8 months pregnant, and the faucet turned on. My mom sighed annoyingly and stood. She waddled to turn the water off, but as soon as she did, the bathroom faucet turned on. My mom spent an hour walking around the small 3 bedroom apartment, turning water off all day.

My oldest sister also mentioned a time where she saw the grave of an old time comedian. A story says that when he died, a woman is black came by his grave every day to leave a rose until she died. People say that her spirit still watches the grave, and unless someone visiting the grave was or is a true fan of his, she makes them leave. My sister went to that grave, and said that when she got there, she got this feeling like someone was behind her, holding her shoulders and screaming until she left the cemetery. My second oldest sister has only seen the spirit in the hall from what she tells me.

My oldest sister has had the most experiences. The first was when I was little. I heard her scream in the middle of the night, and she told us that she woke up and saw a man with a beard, wearing stripes was staring at her. I thought it was just a joke at first, but she was way to shaken up for that to have been the case. Since then, she's seen other spirits in her room, but they only watch her for few moments and then leave. Except one that my sister thinks touched her lips. She's had experiences at cemeteries too. She told me about a time where she spoke rudely about someone at their grave, and the lense cap to her camera popped off, and the scope kept zooming in and out taking flash pictures.

As I said, I have only had one experience. I was asleep on the couch in my family's living room, and in the middle of the night, I heard the switch to the kitchen light flip on. I looked up and saw a shadow move into the kitchen. Not an apparition, a shadow like some makes while walking. I got up to see who it was, but when I walked into the kitchen, no one was there. My friends have tried to rationalize the story by saying that the shadow was just one of my cats, but there are two distinct flaws with that. First, my cats wouldn't have been able to switch the light on, and if it were one of my cats, they would have been there when I went in the kitchen. Other than that, my only defense I have is that I know what I saw.

Yes, seeing spirits can be actually very scary if you are all alone. It's a good thing my little brother and mother are there for me. My friend, Alex, thinks I'm insane, but I like how we connect in other ways. My parents bedroom is the most haunted out of my house. My mother told me that he only comes when a girl sleeps in there alone. So one night I went in my parent's bedroom and slept in there alone. (My father is always at work, and I barely know him. My mom doesn't sleep in there if my dad isn't there so she was sleeping on the couch.) I did experience the shock of what my mom did. I was laying on her bed, and sleeping. All of the sudden I woke up, and saw a man standing on the bed. My blanket was slowly sliding off and I couldn't move at all. Finally after 20 minutes, I raised my arm, and turned on the light. My mom ran in and told me she heard something. Right after that, my brother ran in and told me he heard something too. We all heard the same male laugh, and I thought that was very scary. I was really young when I had my first experience. I was only around 7 or 8. I was standing on my couch and cleaning the giant mirror over it. All of the sudden, I felt a hand on my shoulder. My little brother and sister liked to stand on the table, which we weren't allowed to do. I turned around to tell them not to stand on it, and no one was there. I looked out my window near the kitchen and saw that my 3 year old sister, 5 year old brother, and my 7 or 8 year old brother jumping on our trampoline in our backyard. When I asked my mom about it she told me my great grandfather had died in that house. Tell me about your experience(s)

You can see spirits? You'd like Encino then. Or at least the corner I live on. My apartment is haunted. I have 2 older sisters, and the older of the two has had the most paranormal experiences. Including being face to face with a spirit. They've told me about an apparition the sometimes see in our hallway of a man who paces back and forth down the hall past their rooms a few times before disappearing. I've only had 1 experience myself though.
