You seriously don't find either of the pairings obvious? It was pretty obvious to me that Renji was in love with Rukia from almost the start of the show, and Orihime and Ichigo is just like Hinata and Naruto

Well, if I was going to end a series with pairings, I would at least make it obvious throughout the series the two would be together. For the Bleach pairings, there was little to none given, if in each arc they made it apparent that someone had a crush on another, then at least make it more than just in a simple instance. With Hinata and Naruto, it was apparent she had a thing for Naruto every time the two were together, but Rukia and Renji... not so much...

Its not just the executives though. Tite Kubo did that of his own accord. As an animator, or manga writer, do you constantly want to be hugged by those questions once a series is done? Like I said, LOTR, one of the best fantasy novel series ever, even had couples together in the end. As a writer, you have to occasionally just go a please the crowd and also stop the occasionally incredibly violent fighting that can happen

Yeah, but I still have my own ideals and beliefs in terms of how you do a series properly. Besides, trying to use Bleach or Naruto as examples isn't really saying much, Bleach lost its luster after Aizen was beat and instead of ending Bleach there, screw you all we can crank out more pointless arcs...
