Well Batman has had its share of people perceived as 'betraying' the fanbase mainly do to a series like the 1960's batman tv series(people tended to hate it even back then and now as it warped Batman and Robin like crazy) The batman movie that had the blasted 'bat-credit-card'' and oddly people hating the batman the animated series just because it in general stuck with the batman stuff but changed things aswell as a even bigger outcry that they skipped Jason Todd so they went to Tim drake. While oddly the very same people liked the series ''the batman'' which had completely fucked over everything Batman.
I honestly never played the Elder Scrolls series so I don't know what you mean by it
Superman on him I'm neutral as depending on who's writing him he can be good or bad on one of the worse versions if I recall right in one version/comic run he had near the end got to pretty much living god levels and abilities. Others hes a rather okay character but yeah hes constantly going from a decent character to a shitty character.
By your dislike of Robin is it do to the mantle keep getting pasted or what? I'm a fan of Jason Todd both when he was Robin and after he returned(even if he was killed off before he became the redhood by DC do to a fan vote showing how many people hated Jason Todd)
Personally I don't think its a bad thing for comics to have issues that are dark or series that are dark as like any genre of media you need atleast somethings that are dark though at times you can get too dark. Case of a comic being too bark to me is Watchmen

The TV series needs to have a long chat with the movies about famous actors vs those known for the character. I don't really have a problem with it being geared to the fanbase , the problem being that it's hard to break into other market with that strategy if after a while , any move to do so is perceived as 'betraying' the fanbase , even if continuing on that route can lead to disaster, for an example look at The Elder Scrolls Online , people wanted it , they got it , it was bad.
I like DC's characters , mostly, the villains are well shaped and drawn , the heroes are mostly pretty good. The exceptions being Superman , can't stand him, Robin, obvious reasons and Doomsday. I suppose my advise would be take a leaf from Marvel and make continuity a long thing, cast same actors and give hints. Also , it's a freaking comic! Lighten up a little , but not Batman forever style.
There's only one flaw with Marvel so far and that was avengers 2 , it was good , but tried to do so much they couldn't set everything up , maybe take some more time with it and don't ride the hype.

Well I'm more of a DC fan myself and the comics of DC tend to at this piont be best on a new comer to pick up when a reboot happens . Plus most of the tv series they've been putting out tend to be easy to follow and pick up. Not to forget most of the DC Animated movies are geared towards long term comic fans as most of the movies are based on a comic story arc. When most of the animated series are based on longer term comic book fans (with afew exceptions) Though when we're talking about none animated movies DC has little to no excuse in that area you brought up on movies
Marvel I'm a fan of just in general not as big of a fan and I do agree with most of what you said on it aswell

Hmm , my answer is a little complicated. With Marvel , I took some time to warm up to it but I'm on board now with them. They've nailed the movie/comic balance of not going overboard with really long laborious story elements and needless description from the comics.
For DC , they seriously screwed up their movie prospects by making it much darker. Although they have a very rich source material they often get the balance wrong on how much to put into a move or comic , after all , what new comer wants to read something they need an entire glossary , encyclopaedia and family tree to understand who's who and why. Get too expansive too quickly and you loose that.
So all in all , more of a Marvel fan due to the movies , I like DC's characters , but understanding who's who is just way too...much. Too many interlocking stories and such.
