Here's a rough draft of the synposis:

The year is 2250, Humanity has finally reached out to the stars after colonizing the Solar System Having encountered many alien species, some hostile, some isolationist and some friendly, Humans have attempted to integrate themselves into galactic society. But the transition has not been smooth. Some welcome the new arrivals. Others see them as inferior and not worthy of joining the table – so to speak. And still others see them as excessively violent and untrustworthy.
Nevertheless, talks begin to proceed smoothly. Until one day, the Giratin ambassador is found dead in her room – supposedly killed by a Human. Conversely, the Human ambassador's ship is destroyed on the planet Giratis by a group of Giratin seperatists.
Both sides are now at each other's throats and war is seemingly around the corner.
Caught in the middle of this debacle is the Zymothie – a large, unassuming but armed cargo freighter and its motley crew of Humans and other beings from the system. Can they stave off the impending war?
