Not a bad idea. I figure that the players learn that there are multiple Hearts of Light across the many planets of the infinite Material Plane, and they'll have to track them down and find them before the Prismatic Dragons do. Each one bestows different powers to their wielder.

I figure the Heart of Light of the planet the player starts at is the primary source of magical power (and incontinence) in this world. Wielding it amplifies their abilities tremendously (Sacred bonuses to AC, massive bonus to attack, caster levels increased by 1.5) but making them more infantile in other ways (auto-fail incontinence checks*, reduce Reflex saves to zero, unable to speak or understand any language other than babble)

Nothing about the 'why' their species needs an upgrade, and I don't see why they would want them, Prismatic Dragons are some of the strongest dudes in D&D, and draconic arrogance dictates that if you even suggested they needed an upgrade, they'd kill you for suggesting they aren't perfect enough.

Maybe the Heart is the disembodied but still-living fragments of a destroyed Sidereal (Over-Deity) and ancestor to the Prismatic Dragon in the same way Io is. The difference is that Io is still active. So the Prismatic Dragons seek to make their God whole again, however the Sidereals have long ago had their power suppressed and locked inside the various planes of existence. The return of a whole, non-suppressed Sidereal wouldn't merely upset the cosmic balance, but perform a song and dance number on the spot around it while holding a festival in honor of its lack of total relevance.

Put simply, Prismatic Dragon God returns, everything dies.

That makes sense. The details I would imagine are unimportant but that's the effect.

Why they want the Heart of Light is what I haven't figured out yet.

I was thinking an epic, level 24 game. Epic Casting is banned because it's broken as all hell, and Leadership is banned because I just don't want to deal with it. What I want to do is that the magic that allows mortals to achieve power beyond the limits of ordinary folks (allows fighters to shrug off direct hits from a dragon's bite, for example, or a Sorcerer's spellcasting) has the side-effect of making these folks incontinent.

And the storyline: A flight of Prismatic Dragons have teleported into the Material Plane, ravaging the lands in search of a macguffin called the Heart of Light.

On another website i'm looking at making a level 100 Pentastalt character.

As for this site, i'm thinking about it, but I haven't come up with more than just ideas.
