By all means, come up with smaller quests. Sidequests are welcome.

The least we can do is brainstorm some ideas. I like the idea of the current dungeon, a sound-themed one filled with pokemon who, by all rights, should have the Sound typing (I have a theory that Gen 4 was going to introduce Sound type at some point but it got scrapped in development. My reasoning is the introduction of a whole bunch of sound-themed pokemon (Cricketune, Chatot, Chimeco...))

Though I think we'll need some overarching plot. I like the idea I came up with a long time ago, of a dungeon under the control of an AI with dissociative-personality. The AI flips between its personalities more-or-less at random, and whichever personality is dominant affects the dungeon. Of course, the AI will interact with the characters through dialogue.

The Child: More puzzle-based gameplay. Most dark areas are illuminated, because the child is afraid of the dark. Playful personality, sees characters as playmates.
The Killer: More combat and traps. Sees characters as victims to be hunted.
The Mother: The 'helpful' personality. She'll very much see the adventurers as her babies, with all that implies, but is also aware that something is terribly wrong with herself, and asks the adventurers to put a stop to what ever plans the other personalities are set in motion.
The Martyr: The primary antagonist. The least frequently seen of all personalities, but by far the most dangerous. Dungeons become extremely dangerous, and dialogue is often spoken in lunatic ravings, suggesting a rather suicidal desire to start the world over from scratch.

The AIs' goal is to become stable, again. But in order to do so it needs to expand its neural network. Its neural network taking the form of Mystery Dungeons, and the only way its goals could be achieved is by turning every square inch of the world into some form of mystery dungeon.

That triangular dungeon I ran earlier would be a good vehicle for that. They might start showing up more frequently in dungeons.

I was about to get with you about that. My muse kinda die a few weeks ago. That, and I've been having a blast with Sonic Mania. I'll get to the thread today, promise ~

I do enjoy it. There's just a bit of a creative drain at the moment.
