To be clear, I'm also perfectly fine with continuing and discussing our current RP. Keno was a breath of fresh air, and I think we discussed the possibility of him working with my unintroduced character: a matronly service robot. Keno had interesting interactions with the other characters. Both Keno and 34M's self-serving nature went well with 59 and 61's innocence.
I'll be thinking more about this new idea. There's probably a pecking order: the older summons train and take care of the newer ones. The news ones would need to get acclimated, learn how to do chores and take care of things while the master is out, and when the master doesn't return, they need to decide what to do.
I'm being reminded of the movie 9, in which a scientist brings 9 dolls to life by imbuing each of them with a piece of his soul. He promptly dies immediately as the ninth one is born, leaving the dolls to find their own way in world.
- The summons are spirits from another realm bound by the summoner so that they take a physical form and obey him. They remember their lives as spirits, although that memory won't help them very much here.
- The summons are actual new life that he has created, that start as a blank slate.
So what form do these summons take? Demons? Constructs? If they're homunculi, they can have many varied forms.
I imagine their normal routine is doing chores for the summoner, cooking, cleaning, and such. Probably one of the summons has the job of changing the others.
Ooh, that could be interesting. It sounds like it would be a slightly lighter tone than what we've currently got going. Could be a bit more playful. Perhaps they play around with their master's spells and end up summoning something of their own, which they need to get under control before their master returns?
Or their master is late and they decide to go out into town to find him, but they've never left the tower before.
Looking at other stuff that you've done in the past, I see a lot of adventure or exploration stories, and I dig that. Characters staying in one place for too long gets boring. We can definitely use a quest or a mission as a framing device.
Instead of having a group of characters stranded and trying to find their own way, they could be working with their creator. A wizard creates a homunculus, or binds a demon to this mortal realm as a servant. (Or in a sci-fi setting, a scientist creates an organic body for their artificial intelligence.)
