If you watch an anime, then notice the blue one piece swim suit with a white square an the breast area. On this white square their are a number and a name either above or below. The first number is the grade while the second number is the section (Sample: 3-2). What dose the section number measure?

Is it grade point average, class period, famliy status... What dose this number mean?
