Hmm, it seems someone has already made the suggestion.

As I look at the topics in the general, I find they are extremely cluttered, with every other one being a "HI I'm bored let's talk about me" thread, which could very easily be avoided by having an "Introductions" board added to the forum where those sorts of personal threads could go, as well as allowing anyone new wishing to introduce themselves create their own topic without fear of being outcast.

well I am chiming into this as it seems to be a nice place to say hello. I'm not an artist at all, rather, I simply occasionally follow things on a whim and a whim lead me here, I find this place curious and will probably spend some time here just enjoying something that is outside of my usual experience.

Well, seeing I'm just as narcissistic as everyone else, and thus loves people to notice and talk to me about me - not to mention the fact that I'm too fairly new to this place - I support the notion of an introduction thread. It will surely make the general chat subsection much cleaner.
