Well I'm thinking minor things at first like for example Luna waking up wet from her dream realm double having went pee and the lingering effects gradually get more pronounced/noticeable which the affects aren't just limited to Fluttershy or Luna they're also tied to others who was in the dreams and even items/locations

Why not combine both aspects? We could even have lingering affects of the dream world in the - for lack of a better term- 'real world' for Luna visiting one ponies dream rather frequently
