I came up with an idea.
Some species do use diapers (or the equivalent) because the 1 g gravity on the ship makes it harder for them to "hold it in" and there others who are incontinent because they're injured.

The ship is basically caught up in the middle of it. Since it's a Human flagged vessel, the Giratin warhawks assume its hostile, the Humans want it as a warship.

About your idea. I was thinking, not along the lines of diapers, I still haven't come up with anything new on that front, but what exactly is this ship doing in regards to an impending war? Is it somehow caught up in it, does it suddenly become apart of something in regards to it?

It sounds cool. As for diapers being features. Well, I'm not sure how to integrate it exactly either. But, when encountering new species. Who's to say that some of them don't use things like diapers anyway? Just throwing that out there.
