Do you want to stay as a doll?
I kinda want her to start that way, have my character like find a heart or key mark on her foot or something, clean it away and remove her curse. Ideally my character lives alone, but he has a sister and we can say his sister leaves her toys every now and then which is why Larxene is there.
Aside from that I think you have the best angle to start by walking out into the hall

My argument to your concern would be Larxene would give no flips about wandering around and keeping the order, so my character would see her and investigate.
My thought isn’t that you would be oddly in an adult male’s room

Why would it be harder for me?
I would say she would have more of a plush body, like Woody and Jess, rather than a barbie doll.

I wasn’t sure how you wanted to play as a doll, but I was thinking she starts off as a 1 foot doll, then she breaks that curse on her, but doesn’t change attire, so she’d be normal height. But she can stay a doll if you want to go that rout.
