My idea is basically a region called arlos a sub tropical place that doesn’t use poke balls for battling but special Pokédex’s with dna scanners they produce a chip and when used on a wrist device it turns the trainer into said Pokémon. Even thought of a water type starter. Aqukitty it’s a small cat with hydrophobic fur it’s blue with orange on it’s legs. It fur can trap air giving the appearance of floaties . It evolves into Nekaguard a upright Pokémon that is mono water and patrols beaches to keep trainers and pokemon safe and finally surfpurr a water and ice type using its created ice to surf
