I'm sorry to hear that. It's sort of like the case of Tinnitus that I have (It's not mild but it's not severe either - It's somewhere in between the two extremes). During the day, there is enough surrounding noise in my environment to drown out the ringing in both of my ears but at night especially before I sleep, I need to turn on a small fan in my bedroom to mask the ringing, otherwise the ringing in my ears above my quiet bedroom is loud enough to stop me from going to sleep (The ringing sounds like the annoying, high pitched noise that an old CRT TV makes when it is left on with the volume set all the way down to zero). There's no cure or effective treatment (I've tried supplements like Lipo-Flavonoid to no relief - I found out later that taking a B-Complex vitamin and sucking on some lemon juice would be about the same thing but at half the cost of Lipo-Flavonoid - A 90 day supply of the OTC supplement costs $20.00 and is not covered by insurance [Supplements are never covered since they are not FDA approved unlike prescription medication]) for Tinnitus. Sufferers like me just have to get used to the ringing or go insane (I've heard horror stories where people have committed suicide because the ringing noise became too much for them to bear anymore)!

Cool! I wish you the best!

Lowering the pain level, never rid of it unfortunately.

Did have an interview, am waiting for the results.

Oh, so it's a treatment rather than a cure. Is it working (I know that it may be a bit too early to tell)?

Hmm... If it's a gov't job then shouldn't you be able to qualify for your job again as long as you can pass the "Civil Service" exam?

Nope, they insert needles into the back of your head, in this case, and place them in around the nerves that transmit the pain signals. Then they attach something to the needles that channels radiowaves through them to heat them up and damage the nerves. Effects last 6 to 12 months.

Actually we were allowed to listen to music and wear headphones/earphones.

Wow. Well, I hope that the procedure is working for you. Did they have to shave a part of your head to perform the operation or was it performed with lasers?

You performed data entry with all that key clacking noise surrounding you in your condition? All those keystrokes must have have sounded like drums beating on your head!

I've been on and off multiple medications, didn't find one that worked and let me function enough to hold a job. When I first learned about the procedure I looked up all the info I could and thought about it for several months before deciding to try it. It wasn't a decision I made lightly.

Old job was working for the state tax department, doing data entry.

I've heard of people having severe migraines before but I've never known someone who had to undergo an operation to relieve them! Usually, many people respond well to prescription pain relievers (Triptans or even steroids like Prednisone - I was prescribed that once for inflammation of my inner ear but inflammation can also cause pressure on the nerve cells near or in your brain which in turn, can cause migraines). What was your old job? I hope that you're feeling better now~!

For my migraines, kept me out of work for over 2 years. Working on getting back my old job; wasn't a dream job but it had good benefits and decent pay.
