Well you said you like sci-fy , so why not go for a bit of a classic.
A crew of a space ship hears a distress call from an ship. Scans of the ships show it's not got anyone living on board. Heading into the ship they find it set up like some kind of utopia habitation , only for children. Strangely the doors to the bridge are sealed and the AI is sounding a bit glitchy when asking for help. The problem is when trying to get back they trip the alarm and all exits are sealed for now , wonder what the AI will make of these new bio forms in the habitat.

Alright. I'd be interested in some of the ideas you'd have.

I don't think so, that's not terribly interesting from my perspective since there's nothing interesting about the setting or even a clear role to play. It might help to think of the story without you giving out roles since it will make you think in terms my perspective

Hmmm.
While he's been staying at the orphanage, he tends to yearn for his parents. Eventually, one day he packed his bags, and headed for the nearest friendly controlled city. With the lizard's quick wit and instincts, he aims to find out more about his parents, and why they left him there. Even aiming to take to the stars aboard a ship to find them. Although space isn't particularly kind to newcomers.

That's true, I was thinking we could bounce ideas off eachother though. Although if your not up for that I understand.

I'll be honest , that's not much of a story.
If you're wanting to do slice of life you've got to made the setting interesting and set up possible events that can happen
