Huh? Are you saying that all British houses are difficult to heat like the large, dank stone castles that existed in Medieval times? LOL! Forgive the stupid American joke. How do the people there stay warm during the Winter, if not for the available home heating options? Is a heavier diet and more physical activity keys to keeping warm? I have a cousin who occasionally visits Scotland on business for his company. He once brought back a fine tin of heavy Scottish Shortbread made by Morrisons Supermarkets PLC, Gain Lane, Bradford, 803 7DL (Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that Morrisons is one of the more "Higher end"/expensive supermarket chains, much like
Wegmans here in the U.S. - As I understand it, both chains sell fine wine. When I visited the Wegmans near my sister's house in New Jersey, I was surprised to see that the supermarket had a complimentary small child care facility for its customers' small children! - There are no Wegmans where I live though, as no one in my neighborhood could afford to shop there). The Morrisons Shortbreads were heavy on the real butter and a delicious guilty pleasure at 70g of fat per portion (One biscuit/cookie - No vegetable shortening was used, unlike in the cheaper Scottish brands or most of the mass marketed "Butter flavored" cookies sold here in the U.S. which would probably be considered as "Rubbish" by folks over where you are. For example, if you look at the ingredients list in a Voortman's "Shortbread" cookie made here in the U.S., you'll see that there is actually no butter! ->
https://voortman.com/product/shortbread-cookie/. Although, there is only 4.5g of fat in one of those cookies compared to the 70g of fat in one Morrison's [real butter] Shortbread!). I found myself eating three of the Morrison's Shortbreads at a time with 1% milk or coffee. The shortbread is now long gone but I still have the tin box to use for storing whatever needs to be stored. If I regularly ate snacks like that everyday, I'd probably need to jog around an extra mile to work off the excess pounds I'd gain or have my high blood pressure medication dosage increased!
