I’m thinking the clothes could have technology where the more high ranking and skilled you are the younger you appear. Preschool clothes would make you appear as a kindergartner or preschooler and baby clothes would make them appear as babies.

The idea is that there's an elite team of mech pilots who fight giant monsters that attack humanity, but the technology needed for someone to pilot a mecha requires them to be diapered.
