Eventually, because it's his big lesson. He hates it at first, slowly grows to accept it, and starts to like it near the end.

I'm fine either way, the lesson is supposed to be about how you can stop trying to bury your emotions and how being a kid at heart isn't as bad and terrible as he thinks it is. Anyway sorry to ask, but could you edit your post to also ask him about his full first name?
