She even went so far as to argue and fight with her husband on the treatment he does towards Ursula and allows others to get away with towards Ursula and how harsh he treats her for small things that he treated others way nicely on... its even revealed that Ursula is Athenas sister in law …

This all means we can easily have Arial actually aware of her in this rp and indead have the matter be from Spite to the king aswell as giving Arial a chance at something she wants

Oh and seeing as its kinda a thing that after Arials mother died in canon was the reason music was banned by Arials father in his kingdom .. So um I could see Arials mother actually be big on music and possibly sway her husband to allow Arial to be with the prince through music and singing

In this case would it be the Sea Witch doing it for evil reasons or a honest reason without taking her voice or anything that truly matters...Maybe to spite Arial's Father and grandfather ? Oh and that last suggestion on why doing that with such a reason is do to some extra material about Ursula(the sea witch) it apparently was made a thing she is actually a older relative of Arial's in some fashion that was never clarified how she is but they are

If you want we could even have her too easy going from a mix of not wanting to be like her father and not understanding specific human matters well enough... Like say for example still too clueless to understand that potty training should start at a young age .. This is easy to be explained away do to her prior existence as a mermaid means growing up she and everyone else she was around wouldn't have had such a concept.. that is if you actually think abit it just a little bit on matters of where mermaids spend most of there lives at
