I was actually about to mention my Survivor Island comic and how that challenge was my least favorite idea because of how hard it was to do. Not to mention, I hated drawing the cars. It was there because I ran out of ideas and wanted to get the extra one I had out of the way first, ironically.
I like the idea you have though. If you believe we can make the racing work, then I won't doubt you. I like mixing in humiliating elements with competition stuff and my brain kind of fries whenever I have a concept that's hard to work with or if there's too little to do with it.
My main concern is that you may not know enough of the characters I'm introducing to pit against my character should he be going it alone. I was thinking you'd play the main guy and I'd play all the opposing characters he'd face to get around that. That way you could see them be treated as original characters while I got to play off their established personalities and such. I could also use them to develop the world and throw in hints and clues to the conspiracy that lies underneath it all as well.
If we're both our own main characters though, then the opposition my character would have to face would have to be something else.
Okay, but if we do that then wouldn't I be wrestling against myself since the idea was that I could play all the characters from the shows you weren't familiar with. Also, I'm not sure how I'd handle being the opponents for the racing stuff. With the fighting it's more open for more things to happen but racing is hard to think of things in my mind.
That sounds more like a sidekick thing rather than two characters on a journey together. Maybe it'd be better if they met a robot like him along the way or something? Or maybe your idea is that of a poor robot kid whose trying to make things better for his family instead of an organic person. That might be why it's a little harder to grasp. Your second point is curious as well. You want them to not work out in the wrestling league and go into an underground thing? So they would lose?
Or they go to the league, they lose, go for an underground thing, then head back to the legit one and try again to make a name for themselves there.
Would an inspiring story about two poor underdogs trying to make it in a high-end land where fighting and stuff gets you up in the world work as a base setting. They start off in the slums. They hate it there. They have a fight after not being able to put up with it anymore. Than they see all the ritzy stuff going on in a land far away from where they are about how the top fighters and stuff who compete in something similar to like a Wrestling or Boxing League for these characters gets the top members loads of money and stuff. They travel there, they sign up and manage to work their way up and along the way uncover a sinister plot underneath everything that makes them aware that something fishy is going on with both the government of the country they're in but the league itself.
It'd be like an anime where there was a ton of comedy and stuff to it as well but a nice action-adventure conspiracy plot to go with it. Also, more OC characters would be needed to round out the more plot heavy people. Maybe some twists as to whose working for the bad guys. They could make some new friends and new enemies. Some of the people they beat in the league could go from being on top of the world to the equivalent to Team Rocket, getting their butts kicked in and out of the ring.
The whole nine yards! Maybe even arcs where they have to travel to the rings of other countries to put on shows and uncover more nasty stuff there. See, the more I think about this the more ideas for it come to mind.
Or would separating the two rps be the better idea and you had something else in mind for the plot heavy one.
Ah. I've done a few of those too. With varied success. Despite writing a lot, I tend to get tired of those a lot quicker when it comes to Roleplays since Rping is recreational with all that I have to do. Taking time out of the day just to get a kick out of something helps a lot.
However, that isn't to say I'm not all for that too, as I combine the two really well as well. Humiliation is still a huge factor but having it be a serious situation that happens could work too.
We could either do two Rps or do this as one Rp but mix the humiliation and the developing story together. Though, how well that turns out depends on the kind of person I roleplay with too.
Ah. I get it. You know, what I think would be perfect for you than? An Rp where a bunch of characters from these shows could crossover into a single Rp, where I played the majority of them but we each had our own Original OC as the stars of it. That way it wouldn't matter. Similar to the set-up that we had with Kenor and the little robot going against the Sonic characters I played, it could be these two rookies going against a bunch of different characters and personalities as underdogs trying to make their way up.
No, I'm not irritated. I was just surprised. I'm actually glad you're asking me about other types of Rps. I spilled all that out to you in hopes that you might be a fan of some of these other ones.
Really? You've only seen me do Sonic? Have you checked out the statistics where it shows all the threads I've created? I've done Rps for Alvin and the Chipmunks, One Piece, Detective Conan, Dragonball, Naruto, Hunter X Hunter, My Hero Acadamia, Fairy Tail, Digimon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Juniper Lee, and a ton of Total Drama Rps where I get characters from different anime and cartoons and games together and have them compete against one another whenever I want to focus on some characters but not do an Rp dedicated to just one universe. Crossovers happen a lot that way.
Also did an Rp for Recess, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ben 10, and Kids Next Door too but some of those are ones I'd like to just focus on individual characters for. I wish I could include more characters from stuff like Zatch Bell, Rave Master, +Anima, Soul Eater, Yu Yu Hakusho, One Punch Man, The Seven Deadly Sins, and maybe even Black Clover for one character.
