Last night I was struck by inspiration and I kind of thought out an entire opening scene.
It begins at the start of episode 3. Chloe decided to meet at Max’s dorm so that they can discuss the details of breaking into principal Well’s office. Sometime during the discussion, Max reveals that she’s been having nightmares related to the storm and Kate’s attempted suicide, as such she wears protection. The protection at this point is just regular pull ups but will probably change over the story.
Chloe does a little teasing but stops when she sees Max get a little uncomfortable. Chloe also spends some time thinking about how Max seems to naturally fit them. They change the topic back to the breaking in and the rest just goes like normal. Maybe Chloe helps Max hide from the security guard.
Regardless, they get back to the Price household and since she doesn’t know if Chloe can change her and she left her pull ups back at the dorm, she goes to Joyce for help, who obliges because she likes Max. The two reminisce about easier times when Max and Chloe were just carefree kids. And that’s basically all in my head.
Also, I’ve thought of a scene where Chloe noticed Captain, Max’s brown teddy bear, and makes a joke “Good to see some things never change.” Leading to some friendly banter.
(I’m considering a scene where Max is the one to decide “You know, I need stronger protection. It’ll be kinda humiliating, but it’s better than the alternative.”)
