Yeah, that sounds like it should work. We'l cross the bridges when we get to it, but that sounds like a fair solution.
Bovanga wise, I was thinking that the station has shifted entirely to using regression to try and stifle dust. The guillotine separation has hit a dead end - sure it works, but every subject has ended up dying after a few days, every time, without fail. Perhaps they come to the conclusion that stopping dust via Daemon separation is simply non-viable, and look at alternative solutions, and thats where Coulter comes in.
I imagine the staff and members would be on board. Bolvanga isn't Treblinka. They aren't trying to hurt the children. They genuinely believe they are helping them, even if some methods are extreme. All but the most fundamentalist members are probably against sentencing kids to a terrible death like that for no reason.
I like the idea of the place being a deceptively nice complex, with the kids living in relative luxury with nurses tending to them.
(Sorry for the delay, I was out at my Coriolis RP game.)
I'm on board with your outline. We should stick to that.
I like the idea for Bolvanger, its a good twist and adaption for the world. Though I'm wondering whether Coulter would have Lyra subjected to the harsher treatments, since they do seem to be forming a sort of twisted bond right now.
Well I suppose with the way our cultures changing, with more and more movies and such being released every year and the internet making cataloging and dissecting tropes all the easier and more common that the way we tell stories would have to change too. Self reference I suppose is a good tool to either make the audience feel like their in on the joke or just make them more willing to accept the presence of a cliche.
As for Thor, I really liked it. The second Thor movie was a really boring entry for the Marvel stuff, but this one seems like a deliberate counter to that, the villains were actually interesting, Thor had a real character arc, big spectacle battles, a focus on alien worlds instead of returning to earth, it was allot of fun. I particularly liked the ending where they defeat the villain by starting ragnorok, not only was that an interesting change to the status quo, but after so many Marvel movies where the heroes have to stop the world from ending it was a clever twist to have a movie where a worlds end is something necessary.
Hmmm, that's actually pretty clever. I remember the novel had allot of loopy things in it, like the emotion adjusting appliance you can buy to go along with your fridge and stove, or the way animals ownership is now all the rage and people who can't afford real animals buy artificial ones (which was carried over to some extent into the film), so your guess about the names origin would indeed have fit right in.
I'd be OK with us doing 14 then. Makes TB a bit more likely then. Its not like it makes a massive difference.
I'd prefer if we acted out the events first hand. It'd give a god opportunity to show Anakin and Ahsoka interacting character wise before transitioning to the arrangement of the therapy.
Ok. Sounds good. You can find episodes and clips on youtube rather easily, though she's in some more than others.
What age should she be? Because there is a three year time skip between seasons 3 and 4, so she'd be either 14 or 17 depending on when we set things.
Also, plot wise, I was thinking we can start it rolling with her suffering TB. Maybe wetting herself on the battlefield, covering it up, and then doing it again in front of Anakin? Like, she then runs off to her quarters in embarrassment and he has to try and comfort her?
I'm open to any ideas, that's just how I'd think we could start it.
