I think that if it was solely off the clock I might agree. But most professionals I know prefer to be called Mr/Ms/Dr when they are with their peers. In private or off duty? Then sure. I think that would be a fair compromise.
Fair enough. Well, I suppose I can emphasize a little more with Hitsugaya since I do actually have a friend who had to deal with a nickname he disliked. It wasn't offensive or anything, but he made it clear that he did not consider it ribbing and that he really didn't want anyone to call him that.
But Yamamoto did care that they lost their Haoris, even though they are replaceable. People just get caught up on different things. Personally, I think they need to talk with each other.
I disagree on this end. I think you can also say Momo should just let it go and stop calling him Shiro-chan. The fact of the matter is that they both have experiences that lead to their outlooks. Hitsugaya is treated like a child and wants to be acknowledged and Momo was abandoned by someone she was close too.
And for the record, considering the rest of the captains, I think you could argue that Hitsugaya is one of, if not, the most mature captains...That's kind of depressing actually.
I think the issue is that they both see Shiro-chan differently, and neither are wrong. Momo sees it as an affectionate nickname of her oldest friend. Hitsugaya sees it a reminder that, even as a third seat, he would still be treated as a child and not an officer.
