I think I found a clue as to the origins of the "Chux" brand name - Perhaps the diapers may have been marketed as "Chux" because that's probably what parents were supposed to do with it after their baby is finished with the diaper - Just "Chuck it away"! (See "Wondering where the name "chux" originated?" in the following) -> http://www.timdelivers.com/underpads_chux.html They spelled it "Chux" instead of "Chuck" possibly because the marketing people though that it would sound and look better on the packaging (And also be cheaper to print since it would contain one less character - "x" instead of "ck"). I just wanted to let you know that I updated the "How much would you spend for diapers?" thread with an eBay listing for a vintage 1955 complete box of (24) Chux square shaped disposable diapers (The World's first commercially available disposable diaper) and thought that you'd like to share some insight about this collectible in the thread (e.g. Why was the product called "Chux"? Why did they also market it as "Invalid pads" as well as "Disposable diapers"?).
