Furthermore, I think it would be funny for a Batman and Babs team up if Bats says something like "Wait for my signal" And Barbara kind of grumbles to herself before Batman comes back online "Repeat that?" And Babs gets flustered "Nothing!"

“Helena was angry and on edge and not thinking straight… but she wasn’t entirely wrong,” Dinah admitted as Barbara listened with worry.

“I’ve been soft on you. Maybe more than I should have been. What happened tonight was something that cannot happen again."

Barbara’s eyes studied Dinah's own, curious yet trying not to appear afraid.

“What… are you going to do?”

A sigh.

“Go to your room, get out of your Batsuit, then come back here.”

Retreating to her room, Barbara did as was told. She slipped out of her second skin of the batsuit, catching a brief glimpse of her padded reflection before pulling casual clothes overtop. A part of her, prideful, wanted to not come out and lock the door. Let Dinah know that she could deal with her own mistakes. But that would crack their dynamic, and she'd screwed up tonight already. Messed up Helena's place in the team already.

Returning to the living room, the redhead genius felt like a scolded child as her eyes lowered to the floor.

“I’m really sorry, seriously,” Barbara repeated, as if saying it enough would be a worthy amendment to the fiasco. Dinah sighed again, running her hand down her face.

“I know you’re sorry, but I can’t just let you off the hook with an apology. You need to know that this is something with consequences. Which is why… I want you to lie down over my lap.”

Barbara’s eyes went wide with shock. Dinah was… she wouldn’t… No, there was no way...

“You’re gonna spank me?!”

“It’s a punishment and the only one that’ll really stick. Please don’t make this harder.”

Her mind racing a million miles away, Barbara couldn’t believe this. She didn’t need discipline, not like this.

“Can’t you do something else? Lecture me or something? Anything, please, I don’t-

Something in Canary’s eyes surprised Barbara. The sharpness.

“I’m not discussing this. The sooner this is resolved, the sooner we can start making things right."

With a groan, Barbara obliged, lying over Dinah’s lap. She felt her mind slip a bit into childishness as her sweatpants were tugged down.

“Don’t be too hard, mama…” she murmured.

Dinah’s voice hardened a bit, “I’m not mama right now. I’m your teammate. You’re going to keep yourself feeling Big to make sure you remember this. Am I clear?”

“Yes… Canary.”

“Good. Let’s get started then.”

Who should get which miraculous?

Ha. I’m just thinking about the three of them packing together and deciding “Okay, what’s okay to keep in the open and what’s the secret stuff,” “Babs, make sure to bring the posters.”

Side note, I was thinking about the whole “Birds of Prey as undercover family” bit, and I think it would be interesting if they were using some kind of safe house in the streets as part of their disguise.

I think it would be fun if there's a scene where one of the Birds of Prey uses "sweetie" when talking to Babs over comms, just instinctually.

Dinah, sounding like she's praising a kid for colouring in the lines: Good work, sweetie.
