Whitney saw the Raichu and was very familiar with it from the trip to the department store. However, Machamp and Haunter was something a little bit difficult to overcome, especially Haunter. Still, Whitney wasn't all too worried as she had the Pokemon she already selected. "I am most certainly ready," Whitney declared, standing on her end of the battlefield with her Clefairy by her side, ready to spectate the whole event. She threw her first Poke Ball out onto the field and out came a Kangaskhan.

(Nidorina was a Poison-type to begin with, though.)

(I didn't realize there was a poison type back in gen 1.)

Matt smirked and looked to his Machamp and nodded his head for him to go in. "Why don't we make this more interesting Whitney? I could think of a few things that would make the battle a bit more gut wrenching and fun. I'm open to anything you might be thinking of"

Whitney noticed Matt's Machamp walking right in. Then the "interesting" part the trainer offered did intrigue the gym leader enough to at least get some more info out of him. "What do you have in mind?" Whitney offered, looking towards her Kangaskhan, both the mother and infant awaiting orders.

"Well if I win, you let me stay with you wherever you call home and sleep in your bed with you. I get to hug you and touch your padded butt all I want" he suggests with a wink. "If you win you can have whatever you please. But we won't claim each other's pokemon, and nothing coming from this battle will be in public, like walking through town in a weird outfit or naked, etc. So I want this to be fun for us, but not life altering and humiliating" he reasons

Whitney listen to the terms of Matt's wager. Sure the her losing part sounded embarrassing but other than that it was completely free and agreeable. Besides, Whitney was thinking of a free dinner at one of Goldenrod's popular buffets. "Very well, I agree to your wager," Whitney said, giving a cute face, "But don't expect an easy win from me." "Clefairy!!" her Fairy Pokemon cried, appearing to agree with her trainer.

"Okay....well what do you want?" he asks as it seemed that the battle was on and he nodded to Machamp, and he showed the Pokemon his pointer finger as if holding a '1' up and the Pokemon approached with fists ready as if acting by himself.

Whitney's Kangaskhan was looking at the Machamp and despite the fact that she was going up against a fully-evolved Fighting-type Pokemon the Parent Pokemon seemed to be far from discouraged from stepping further into the ring, the child mimicking the eager look on the mother's face. "Use Dizzy Punch!!" Whitney ordered. Kangaskhan nodded and prepared to charge towards Machamp and throwing a punch right at the Superpower Pokemon's face.

"Okay I guess we'll deal with that later" he states as the Machamp held two arms to defend himself as the kangaskhan attacked. The blue fighter seemed not to retaliate, but at the moment he was using his hands to deflect and catch anything sent his way.

Whitney felt a little nervous. The parent Kangaskhan's two arms were no match for Machamp's four arms. Whitney had to think of a new plan and fast because her Kangaskhan was far too close in Machamp's range to allow it to attack. But what could she do next? Just about any offensive move Kangaskhan does have would likely be blocked. She did have to try something, though, because she couldn't allow her Kangaskhan to get knocked out. "Shadow Claw!!!" she commanded. Kangaskhan's right claw glowed a dark aura as she attempted it to left hook Machamp with it.

"Dodge!" came the solid command that was different from what Machamp was doing and the pokemon jumped back away from opponent. He then showed the number 2, with 2 fingers to his Machamp and the pokemon began to fire his fists in an attack mode at this point drawing closer to Kangaskhan. If he got close enough, a seismic toss would follow.
