Jack's face was pale when they left, and he was dead silent, keeping a few paces in front of Luke as to hide his expression and hopefully avoid any conversation. What was Luke thinking, threatening them like that? Their employers? Who knew how deep this scheme ran, and how many people Luke would anger by even suggesting sabotaging the plan. He trusted Luke with his life, but if he was honest, he was afraid Luke might do something, intentional or not, to put them in jeopardy.

Luke had his cogs working, he didn't like being kept in the dark, not when someone life hung in the balance. Sure he could anger them but he was cautious and wasn't going to let anything happen to them. If anything he was going to secure two things , their lives , and some spending cash. The gold they got there would secure the former. He knew he was going to be watched but he was icy and cold to them until he was on better terms with them because right no he hated their guts for wanting to murder someone with rightful claim just for their own political manoeuvring. Of course he had no plans to spoil it for them but they didn't need to know that.

Jack decided to bite his tongue, and instead voiced his concerns with a simple: "Be careful what we do around here." He walked back to the main hall, and looked around. "What better of an idea now than to explore, acting like bratty kids with a sense of entitlement?"

"Yea , I'm stressing too much with plans and such. Wonder if they have a garden" he said with a weak smile , this was taking it's toll on him a little. "Let's head....that way" he guessed pointed towards a hallway.

Jack smiled at Luke, taking his hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Relax." He said, trying to sound confident. "We'll be alright." He pointed in a direction and started walking, hoping to find a garden.

The boy sighed "uh-hu" he said sounding a little more childlike and innocent, this was all very hard for him considering his age. He walked with him and looked around at the walls and passageways "bet they're both sets of spies on us. Wonder how they can all fit in the same spot." he commented.

"I'm glad you're brave enough to stand up for us." He said with a smile, looking down. "Can't say how many times I've stayed quiet or been to scared, and you stepped in." He recounted, feeling a bit guilty he didn't help more or was always nervous. "I bet everyone's a spie for someone here. If we can find out loyalties, that'll help."

"Well we'll keep our options open for as long as possible. After all if one turns sour we just jump to the other side" he said "She seemed sad though , don't know why , she's never met us." he said as thye walked through the stone hallway.

"Yeah..." He knew being on the winning side would be smartest, but it didn't feel right... hopefully it wouldn't come to that. "Yeah, that was... weird. I don't know..." He trailed off as the found their way outside, into a garden bigger than Jack had ever seen.

Luke smiled as he looked around at the colourful plants and flowers "wow , pretty" he said , bringing back memories of going through forests with seas of bluebells. The walls were coated with ivy and the trees in bloom. He felt much better as he sat down on a rock and sighed , looked around at the plants , feeling more like himself and a lot more like his age , rather than brooding over plots and schemes. Some of the trees and bushes even had fruit on them. "I like this place" he said , feeling more himself.
