Anakin nodded. "And I believe I could see the same with you and a certain Duchess."

They clearly knew what was being said at that.

"Just think about it," Anakin bade the older man, placing a friendly hand on his shoulder. "It is not fair that I should be the only one of us to find happiness. Now that the Jedi Order is free to love, you should take advantage of that."

(Apparently, the "no love" rule did not apply to everyone. I read somewhere that Ki-Adi Mundi actually had more than one wife. Maybe it was just a perk or custom of his species.)

(Hmm)

Obi-Wan realized that he was basically being given permission and approval for this.

"Whatever you decide, I'll support you," Anakin assured his older friend. He then looked over at his mother and said, "Now, if you will excuse me. I have my own impending rendezvous with royalty on Naboo."

He nodded and saw them off.

Anakin and Shmi were soon aboard the cruiser, and they were bound for Naboo at once, leaving Obi-Wan alone with his thoughts.

He began to turn with thoughts towards Duchess Satine of Mandalore.

Although it had been many years since they had been romantically involved, he had begun to rekindle his relationship with her during his visits to her planet over the last few years.

Naturally, all this led to him being deep in thought.
