(I'm getting to that. It's only midnight so she's gonna wake up in a hour or so wanting to be held from another bad dream.)

Matt tucked dawn back in and gave her a friendly kiss on the forehead before hopping back into his bed and fell asleep

About an hour later Dawn started crying out due to another nightmare, this one appearing to be worse than the first one.

Matt hopped up again and went through the same process as he tried his best to wake dawn gently.

Dawn awake slightly more gently than the previous encounter, and after seeing her new friend above her, she clung to him, "Hold me please, I don't think I can go back to sleep alone."

"ok dawn i can do that" matt says as he pulls the covers up and slips in beside dawn and he lets her lay somewhat on top of him and he pets her head gently as she rests it on his chest and he holds her in his arms with the covers up to her chin. His left hand is petting her head so he can keep her comfortable.

Dawn is still shaking and clinging to Matt as she is terrified at the dreams she's had.

Matt gently rubs her back and slides his right hand down to her bottom and pats her diaper and rubs it gently. "there there"

Dawn seems to take to this as she calms down as Matt embraces her.

Eventually once he can tell dawn is asleep he slides his hand between her legs and gropes her diaper until he can't feel anything wet then relaxes and snuggles with the girl as he slowly falls asleep once more.
