"I see...okay, well I'm going have to get used to it all then." Kayla then said as she slightly bent down and started to grunt.

"I know you can do it. You may not be my Kayla, but you're still Kayla." Her mom said encouragingly.

"Thank you. If it helps, then you might not be my mom but you're still mom." Kayla then told her.

Her mom hugged her close. "Thank you sweetie, that does help."

Kayla slowly hugged her mom back.

Her mom let go. "S-sorry if that was awkward."

"No, it was fine. So, were are my books at?" Kayla then asked her mom.
|
Her mom showed her a small bookshelf that had books made for toddlers. "Right over here."
|
Kayla went to the bookshelf, got one of the books out, and tried to read what was inside.

Her mom waited to see if Kayla would have any problems reading the book.
