The increase in unfocused magical energy and the shouting of both mares was the final straw and Twilight felt her concentration slip away completely and the spell break free of her mental grasp.

"GIRLS!"

Rainbow Dash's mouth had opened to snap back only to snap shut when Twilight shouted. Both looked to Twilight whose horn was suddenly blindingly bright.

"Get away!" Was all Twilight had time to say before the magic enveloped the room.

Trixie had been snapped over to Twilight at her shout, which had caused her horn to loose it's magic. And when she turned to see Twilight the only thing she could think of, was how much power she was witnessing, and how she would probably never reach that level of skill. Then after she shouted get away Trixie immediately dropped to the floor, thinking of nothing else to do.

The shout had Rainbow moving instantly and she was just about to get out the window when she glanced back and saw through the glow a shape at the edge of the magical tempest that had to be Trixie. Rainbow Dash could easily escape now before more magic hit them but....

'Oh I hate my conscience.' Dash thought savagely. Flipping she burst down, grabbed Trixie around the middle with her forehooves and tried to take off for the door. That was when the rest of the loose magic overtook them both.

Rainbow Dash felt a crawling sensation on her skin and in her muscles. She felt like she had just been shoved in a size 2 box when she was still a size 8 Rainbow Dash. She let go of Trixie with a cry and fell from the air, blacking out before she hit the floor.

Trixie had been frozen with fear, trembling slightly. When Rainbow had grabbed her she had thought she was being enveloped by the magic. But then she felt something, a weird prickling sensation all over her. She screamed out in surprise but she was cut off as she shut down and fainted before she blacked out entirely.

The cries from the library escaped the tree's thick bark and reached the street, where a certain farmer had stopped on her way past as the light built up.

"What in tha' hay..." Applejack frowned, her expression turning alarmed when she heard the screams. "Land'sake, Twilight ah'm a coming!"

The door fell to her powerful orange hooves as the light faded and the apple farmer burst into the library.

"O-oh, h-hey Fallpejap." In the middle of the library Twilight swayed, her eyes spinning. Her horn was smoking and looked charred on the tip. She giggled in a slightly worrying way. "My horn is tingly!"

The purple mare giggled again and fainted.

".....what?" Staring at her friend, Applejack didn't notice the two small blue things against one of the walls.

Trixie was out cold. Her own horn tingled slightly. But she was not going to simply come out of it right away. She was not used to such things, and did not have the endurance to come to quickly. She twitched lightly on the floor.

The twitch of movement out of the corner of her eye pulled Applejack's attention away from her maybe insane friend. Trotting over she found her mouth dropping open.

Laid out cold against the wall were two fillies who looked like they were just toddlers. Even more strange was that one had the coat and mane of her good if competitive friend and the other looked like...Trixie?

Applejack facehoofed. "Sweet apples, ah shoulda just kept walkin'." With a huff she retrieved the two tiny ponies, using the colourful cape Trixie had left as for the two to rest on. Next she picked up Twilight and carried her on her back to the bed upstairs.

"Welp," Applejack muttered, lifting her hat and rubbing her forehead. "S'pose ah better wait..."

She didn't notice the trickle that was beginning to soak the pooled cape from her now small friend.

At the wet feeling from the cape now spreading over to Trixie, it also caused her to involuntarily leak onto it as well. The stinging smell of urine would soon start to waft around the area of the two young ones.

"Woo, what is that?" Waving a hoof in front of her nose as she came back down Applejack's eyebrows shot up. "Oh, ya gotta be kiddn' me."

Looking down at the now soaked cape Applejack sighed. Trotting over to the door she looked out and called to the first pony she could see that she trusted. "Oi, Caramel! Needja ta go grab somthan' for me."

A minute later she came back in and rushed to get a few towels. She put the fillies on one and began to clean where the cape had leaked.

A few minutes passed and to her surprise a wobbily looking unicorn came wandering down from upstairs. "Twi'! Yer awake already?"

"Oh my head. Hello Applejack when did you get here?" She asked a bit out of it before she remembered.

"Oh my! Where are Trixie, and Rainbow Dash!"
