"Thanks, Chief," Carmen said, a note of appreciation in her voice. She then hung up, and she prepared for her upcoming confrontation with ACME's top agents.

An hour later, she was exactly where she said she'd be.

Zack and Ivy arrived right on cue. She gave them a rueful smile and said "Hey, kids."

"Carmen, are you really giving yourself up?"

The red-clad mastermind nodded her head and pulled her pregnancy test out of her pocket, showing it to the two prodigies.

They didn't quite know how to react.

"I'll surrender myself and return everything of value I ever stole," Carmen proposed, "But only on the sole condition that my child and I are not separated from one another. Those are my terms."

"All right, you've got yourself a deal," Ivy replied.

Carmen smiled at that. She then turned around and placed her hands behind her back so they could cuff her. "I figure I may as well give you two a moment of glory. You've more than earned it."
