Marluxia sighed heavily, trying to think of whatever could make things easier. "I guess the only thing we can do is hope that luck will be on our side, right?"
Marluxia leaned down and gave Namine a slow kiss on her cheek, making the blonde girl giggle. "We can at least love Namine while we still can, just in case."

"Of course..." Larxene said, nodding.

Still, her new maternal instincts meant the idea of Namine coming to any harm because they were unlucky with their plan to protect her was causing her some distress.

Everything will work out...I have to believe that.

Later that night, late at night, Namine woke up from a bad dream and began cry, which also cause her to wet herself in her sleep. "Maa-aamaa!"

"!" Larxene woke up quickly at the sound of Namine crying.

Having no idea if it was something mundane or if she was in trouble, Larxene rushed as quickly as she could to Namine, picking the infantile girl up.

"Namine? What's wrong, sweetie?" She asked, not expecting any answer as she checked Namine over.

Namine clung onto Larxene tightly, shaking in fear. "N-Nami....scared..." Namine managed to say looking up at Larxene with tear-filled eyes.

A bad dream... Larxene guessed, hugging Namine tight and rocking her a little.

"It's OK, Honey...Mommy's got you..." She whispered reassuringly, kissing her baby. "There's nothing to be afraid of..."

"Nnhnn! M-mam-ma..."
"Everything alright here?" asked Marluxia in a drowzy tone. "What happened?"

"She had a nightmare, I think..." Larxene said, rocking Namine gently to try and help her calm down. She glanced at Namine's diaper.

"...And she's soaked."

"If she had a nightmare, then that isn't surprising." Marluxia said, gentally stroking Namine's hair. "It's alright, sweetheart. Mommy and Daddy are here now. Nothing will hurt you, I promise."
"D-Daddy..."

"Your Daddy's right, Namine..." Larxene said quietly, still keeping up the gentle rocking.

"Nothing will happen to you while we're around."

"O-otay, Mama..." Namine sniffled, placing her head on Larxene's shoulder.
"I wonder what kind of nightmare scared her enough to make her cry." Marluxia wondered out loud.

"I'm not sure I want to know." Larxene said, frowning as she leaned her head comfortingly against Namine's.

If we don't pull this off, she might be in for a REAL nightmare...she thought soberly.

"Well, whatever it was, we won't let her be upset." Marluxia said. "Maybe she can sleep with us for the rest of the night, so she won't be scared to go to sleep."

"That's a good plan..." Larxene agreed. She checked Namine's diaper again.

"First, though, let's have her sleep with us in a dry diaper." She said, going to the changing supplies.

"Another good plan." Marluxia said, chuckling. "I certainly don't want her leaking while she sleeps. Does she wet herself in her sleep, by the way?"

"I don't know for sure, but I assume she does." Larxene said.

"Babies wet when they're asleep, and Namine is for all intents and purposes a baby with the body of a 15-year-old."

"Well, I would think bedwetting wouldn't be caused by mental reasons, but oh well." Marluxia shrugged. "Doesn't matter, just as long as she has a diaper on."

"It's just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised...you're right, the diaper is what matters for it." Larxene said, laying Namine down on a changing pad and opening up her diaper to start wiping her clean.

It was strange how much better having emotions again could render a task she'd found odious in the extreme earlier...

After cleaning Namine up, Larxene applied some oil very gently to her daughter's privates and sprinkled a generous amount of baby powder. This done, she taped Namine up snugly and picked her up with ease.

"All right...let's get back to bed." She yawned.

"Good idea." Marluxia nodded, yawning as well. "Oh. Do we have anything to do tomorrow, mission-wise?"

"Wouldn't surprise me if those hardasses gave us more jobs...but as far as Vexen's concerned, job #1 is making sure Namine's heart develops..." Larxene looked down at Namine.

"Hopefully that means we can stay with her tomorrow."

"Yes, but Vexen specifically assigned you to do that." Marluxia pointed out, crawling into bed again. "Not that I don't want to stay with you two, but I have to check with Saix tomorrow to check if I do have some missions to do."

"I hope not...this is going to be hard enough if we're both here when he wants the heart." Larxene said, frowning.

"Still, you're right."

"We can handle whatever happens." Marluxia reassured, though wasn't too sure about what he said. "Now, how about we go back to sleep now?"

"Sounds good." Larxene said, nodding. "I think we're going to have one cranky princess tomorrow morning if she stays up much longer..." She added, adjusting her grip on Namine as she headed back to bed.

"Beddy-bye again?" Namioe cooed, rubbing her eyes and yawning.

"That's right, sweetie. But you'll be sleeping with Mommy and Daddy now." Larxene said, reaching the bed and laying Namine down before climbing in beside her and pulling the sheet over them.

Marluxia wrapped his arm around Namine, lightly kissing the girl's forehead as he closed his eyes. "Good night, baby girl."
"Ni ni, Daddy." Namine tiredly cooed. "Ni ni, Mama."

"Night night, Namine." Larxene said, smiling as she hugged Namine as well, closing her eyes.
