As soon as they departed the transport, Samantha would pull her sniper rifle from it's spot upon the mech's back. The magnetic holder disengaging so the weapon could be removed. While she trusted Sarah to be competent to recognize the basic Zed, she still gazed down the scope of the rifle to give the street a look over, the HUD within her mech and the scope of the weapon itself linking up and provided a greatly enhanced image. She couldn't help but smirk at how Sarah was being 'leadery', taking the initiative and what not, it was somewhat refreshing for the veteran pilot. Sticking to one side of the street, Samantha would hug close to the buildings as she slowly made her way down the street.

(By the way, I haven't seen Pacific Rim yet, so if there are some monsters from that movie in this roleplay you'll need to fill me in on them. xP)

(Nah, different monsters entirely for this roleplay.)
It was a surprisingly easy push into the city. The two scouts leading ahead, slipping past the very light zed to look for bigger targets. But, surprisingly, there weren't any. So, the other pilots lumbering behind them, they pushed deeper and deeper into the city, buildings raising up around them.
"This is weird," Sarah commented. "We should have seen something by now..."
BOOM. A giant crash rang out behind them, causing Sarah to whip around in surprise. "Report in!" She called into her mike. But suddenly, there was chaos breaking loose. Where once they couldn't find a single class two enemy, class fours and fives were suddenly tearing towards them at an awful rate. Massive beasts as tall as the largest mechs but far greater in number. Ambush.
Watching this, taking a step back in terror, Sarah heard something behind her. Turning, she had to look up. A massive Zed, easily three times her size, was towering over her as it reared up to smash down on her mech. Paralyzed by fear, she didn't move or try and evade in the slightest as she watched it get ready to take her life.
It was a good thing she had on a diaper, though.

(Apologies for my scarce posting, short handed at work so I'm pulling way more hours then I used to, frying my brain a bit.)

The further and further into the city the task force got without resistance, the tighter the knot in Samantha's stomach became. Something was definitely wrong here. The sense of dread looming over her was almost more then she could bear. It was almost a relief when a loud crash echoed from behind them, a horrific relief as disaster struck...

It was a nightmare come true as the lumbering monstrosities descended upon them. In a knee jerk reaction, Samantha would manage to pop off a shot at one of the first ones rushing from the front, the high velocity armor piercing round dropping the thing as it tore through it's head. Samantha would take several more shots with her rifle, but there was just to many to counter, this wouldn't be a fight, it would be a slaughter. In these situations, scouts had always been taught to get clear of the combat zone, so Samantha would quickly take a glance around to try and spot her wingman.

Sam would spot her alright, about to be pulverized by one of the taller Zed. Without hesitation Samantha would bolt towards her, running as fast as her mech would go, which was pretty damn quick all things considered. The sound of metal on metal would ring in her ears as her mech slammed into Sarah's, sending them both to the ground several meters away, barely dodging the monsters fists as they slammed into the concrete, cracking it. "RUN!" Samantha would scream into her mic as she practically hauled Sarah's machine to it's feet, giving it a shove in the direction of a narrow-ish alleyway that, god willing, was clear of hostiles and too narrow for the bigger Zed to get into. The seasoned pilot hated the thought of leaving the others behind, but sticking around to try and help was a death sentence, they just didn't have the size or firepower to deal with this many high level Zed. The best they could do was get clear and stay alive.

Sarah was knocked back into reality by the collision, the world shaking around her as red warning lights flashed and she was knocked to the side. Panicking, realizing the situation, she staggered to her feet and took off after Samantha. She didn't have the presence of mind to keep a weapon at the ready, she was just following Samantha.
"Where too?" She asked, looking around frantically. Where would a safe place to hide be? "I think... Shit! My fuel pipe is leaking!" She yelled, noticing the flashing warning light. The collision had knocked it out of alignment, no doubt.

"We need to stop! I've got maybe a minute of fuel left!" She yelled. They could fill up at a gas station, (it took diesel,) if they could get there, but she'd need to repair the pipe first. Behind them, carnage was loud and obvious, monsters ripping through the metal force sent to kill them. But she couldn't think about it, they had their own problems to deal with.

(No problem.)

As if things weren't already bad enough, the collision of their machines had caused one of Sarah's fuel lines to break or something kind of malfunction or other. Samantha's own mech was fine however, still, she couldn't just leave Sarah behind to die at the hands of those monstrosities, she wouldn't have been able to live with herself. Have to think fast. "Alright! Just keep close and do what I say!" For nearly 30 seconds Sam would haul ass through the maze of alleyways, making sudden turns and constantly shifting her gaze to and fro for a good hiding spot, very aware that Sarah may have only had a few seconds left before her mech shut down from lack of fuel.

Then she saw it, a large open garage door, clearly the back entrance to some sort of mechanic shop. Best of all it was plenty big enough for them to squeeze into. "Over here!" Samantha would shout as she suddenly came to a stop at the entrance, practically shoving Sarah down and into the building before scrambling in herself and yanking the large heavy door down. Bringing the finger of her mech up to where it's mouth would be if it had one, Sam would clearly make the 'shhh' sign. Not even wanting to say anything into her mic. Sure enough, a few seconds later, they'd see a few of the faster, not quite so large Zed hurdling passed where they'd just been, clearly still in hot pursuit of their targets.

For minutes Samantha would remain stationary, not wanting to move or make the slightest noise, fearing it might give them away.

Inside their helmets though inaudible to the rest of the world, a small computerized voice spoke. 'Detecting critical fuel levels. Releasing pilot.' The front of Sarah's mech slid up, harness automatically detaching. On her back, she had to clamber out the top, stumbling onto the cement floor of the workshop. Taking maybe two steps out of the mech, her legs gave in and she fell to the ground.
"I..." she said, staring forward underneath her helmet. She was clearly in shock. "You... We..." as she spoke, an automatic 3D map showing all nearby mechs was being projected right into her screen, making it impossible to look away. Red dots representing Zed were flooding in innumerably, and the tiny cluster of green dots was growing smaller and smaller. She had switched her radio to hear all of the pilots, and now sat on the ground, legs sprawled, llistening to the screams and last moments of all the other pilots, paralyzed by the shock.

Unlike Sarah, Samantha was quick to pull her helmet off after clambering out of her own mech, cutting off all communications as well. She didn't want to listen to that carnage, that horror, nor did she need too. She would grimace as her gaze shifted to her rookie wingman, whom was clearly in a state of shock, no doubt listening to what was going on. Hastily walking over, Samantha would stand over her and tug her helmet off, rather roughly. Putting her hands on either side of Sarah's head, Sam would force the younger woman to look her in the eyes. "Hey, snap out of it. You break down on me, we both die. Get it together, they knew what they signed up for and we all knew the risks entailed with doing this mission. We're still alive, and I need you competent so we can stay that way." It may have sounded cruel, but it was the truth, the last thing Samantha needed was a rookie having a mental breakdown or something like that, so she had to nip those thoughts in the bud right away and get Sarah back on track mentally, keep her focused.

Sarah blinked a moment as the helmet was torn off her head, shaking her out of the frozen stupor. She looked at Samantha, blankly thinking for a minute before she nodded. "I'm good," she said. "Just... give me a minute."
Making herself stand seemed like a herculean task, but she did it, rising to her feet
Her diaper felt heavy, and she realized momentarily she had used it more than a little bit. Blushing a bit, she wondered if Samantha could smell it or if the suits lining would block the smell of her messy diaper. Trying not to think about it, she walked back to her mech. "These things have an emergency splinter pistol in here somewhere, right?" She asked, digging around in the cockpit. "Please tell me you're a good shot."
