Vendetta simply nodded, grunting a little as the man tugged her away to a small room behind the counter. He sat her down in a sturdy wooden chair, and lifted her chin. "Keep your head raised... Don't want your pretty face to get hurt and my business shut down by the city guard..." He said, taking an engraving tool from a small table to the side.

The laws of Arkaos stated that slaves, while only being property instead of citizens, still could not be harmed unless it was by their owners. Even then, they could not be injured enough to cause anything deemed as a serious injury... No more than a bruise or a small cut. If it was to happen, the slaves could be taken away and re-sold, and their former owners put to death. Slaves were still humans, or humanoids as the case was, and laws stated that they still deserved to be treated as such...

Within no time, the symbol had been engraved flawlessly into the metal pad of Vendetta's collar. The shop clerk smiled, wiping a small bit of sweat from his brow... "There we go... No chance your Mistress will lose you now." And with that, he stood up, tugging the half-angel girl along with him back out to the counter and handing her leash back to Latasha. "There you are, Ma'am. That will be 5 Gold pieces, if you please."

Latasha smiled, waving a hand. Five gold pieces materialized slowly in the air, falling to the counter with five perfect little clinks.

"Thank you for your time and effort, good sir. I'll sleep much better knowing my poor pet won't get lost." She chuckled, taking a hold of Vendetta's leash and giving it a sharp tug to bring Vendetta close to her. "Have a good day."

With that, she led Vendetta back out of the shop and headed for the road out of town.

"I'll feel better once we're somewhere a little more private..." She remarked, loud enough for Vendetta to hear, before looking at her new slave with a little smirk.

"Oh, by the by...what exactly is it that angels eat, my pet?" She asked, looking like she was enjoying a joke Vendetta wasn't in on. "I've heard some say your kind doesn't get fed, and you live on the Aether you draw from the air around you, others claiming you can only eat salted meat prepared by virgins...what can that pretty little tummy of yours hold? I wouldn't want your first meal as my slave to be unpleasant."

Vendetta whimpered a little as she was tugged, following along closely, the symbol on her collar shimmering as the sunlight hit it. Her bare feet brushed along the smooth stones of the Arkaos streets as she walked, her steps still a bit awkward due to the tight harness around her body...

She looked up at Latasha, her timid, blood red eyes fixed on Latasha's as she was questioned... "W-Well, Mistress... Angels CAN eat anything, though they prefer only to eat what is provided to them in the heavens..." She said quietly... Though she was close enough that Latasha could hear her perfectly, "Though... I'm not a purebred angel like my mother was, Mistress, so I have no preference..." Her feathery white wings seemed to droop a little... before unfolding and folding back over her torso out of instinct as a chilly breeze blew!

Latasha nodded slowly, leading Vendetta up into the mountains. It kept getting colder for the poor naked angel, but Latasha didn't seem to notice as they approached a cave.

"So if I was to declare I only feel like feeding you milk, you would not suffer?" She asked, sounding amused. She almost surely knew that Vendetta had to be quite uncomfortable in this cold climate, but Latasha seemed to enjoy Vendetta's discomfort.
