"Of course," Arella said. "No matter what happens, I love you." Weyland smiled. "You're only here because you entered the hangar, apparently because your ship broke apart. You're lucky, because if you hadn't entered when you did, you'd have died out there. So you're here until you recover. And we've terraformed dozens of worlds. This is necessary since as you know, Earth's resources have virtually dwindled to nothing."

"I love you too mommy," Raven smiled and nuzzled back into her mother.

"I meant the restraints, though we're grateful for you saving us." Blackfire smiled innocently at Weyland. "And I lost track after 15, very impressive. What happened to the rest of our crewmates? Would you happen to have them here as well?"

Weyland nodded. "Yes, your teammates are all in nearby rooms in this hall. I'm here to greet them all. And don't worry, we'll take good care of you." They turned to see someone who liked just like Weyland, but with a blue suit, come in. Starfire's jaw dropped. "Don't worry," Weyland said. "We're in the business of synthetics, or androids, to the layperson. This model's called Bishop, after my middle name."

"Crewmates," Blackfire corrected, "but I thank you for treating us so kindly." She said, dropping the subject of the restraints as the android entered. "Interesting, I assume you had a hand in its creation then?" Blackfire guessed, moving back over to Starfire to comfort her, "It'll be okay," she promised.

"I designed it myself," Weyland said with pride. "And this model is also quite noted for joining in military operations." He turned the Bishop android standing there. "Is something wrong?" he whispered. Star smiled and hugged her sister tight.

"Very impressive, I imagine there was some resistance to having it in military operations?" She joked as she noticed him turn, however Star had her preoccupied with the hug.

After conversing with the model, Weyland turned around. "Yes, it took a little convincing, but after the success in commercial travel, it was bound to catch on. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be checking on the others. Tomorrow, I'll give you the grand tour of the station."

"Very well, it was a pleasure." Blackfire smiled as the man took his leave. She turned back to Starfire, "See Star-Star? Everything is okay," she cooed and nuzzled her close to her chest.

"Oh man, that's the last time I listen to," Cyborg started to say as he booted up and noticed the crowd of people in his room. "Uh... hello?" He asked, giving a small wave, "how y'all doing?"

Starfire smiled and giggled, kissing Blackfire's cheeks. "Cyborg, where are you?" Beast Boy said frantically. "Oh no, what happened?"!

"I'm in here BB!" He yelled as the attendants turned to face him, "Umm, I'm not sure what is going on, but I promise I'm doing okay if you can just let me go talk to my friend..." he tried persuading the attendants.

(Did something happen to Cyborg?...)

(No, but BB was just being a bit of an idiot as he panicked)

"Of course you can," a nurse said. "Oh, there you are," BB said nonchalantly. "So, what's up?"

"Well at least someone is here," Cyborg said sitting up and testing it all his motors and sensors. "I'm not sure if I'm reading this right... but everyone else looks to be grouped together somewhere in this place." He turned to a nurse, "Uhh excuse me, have you seen about 6 other people who...unexpectedly arrive?"

"Yes, they're in the other rooms in this hall of the infirmary," the nurse said. "We've been instructed to give you all the best care possible." She smiled. "Anything I can get for you?"

"Uh do you have any food?" He asked, his stomach rumbling.

"Yes." "Uh, I'm a vegetarian," Beast Boy piped up. "No problem, we have that type of food as well." After a while, a chicken and rice dinner for Cyborg and a tofurkey dinner for Beast Boy was brought in.

"Smells good!" He grinned as they set the plate down in front of him. He devoured the food on the plate in less than minutes, sighing as he wiped his hands. "Thanks for that," he smiled at one of the nurses. Cyborg turned to Beast Boy, "I think we should go make sure everyone else is okay."

"Yeah, you're right," BB said after he finished his plate. He got up from the bed and headed down the hall. The first room they entered, Robin was up. "Guys!" he said happily. "There you are! I was worried about you!"

"Robin!" Cyborg responded slapping Robin's back, "Everything okay with you? BB and I just had a nice meal and are trying to find everyone else." He said grabbing one of the chairs near the wall. "Have you seen anyone yet?" He asked, sitting down.

"Not at the moment," Robin said. "I was just about to get out and look for them." Beast Boy smiled. "Well, I guess we can go look for them together, then!" Robin looked at him. "Ordinarily I'd say that I'd be worried about that, but I'm so glad to see you that I don't care."

"Alright," Cyborg said getting up from the chair, "maybe Raven can tell us more about where we got sent." He lifted his arm and tried tinkering with his sensors while he slowly followed Robin and Beast Boy to the door.

They entered the nearest room. By a fortuitous coincidence, it was indeed the room where Arella and Raven were located. By then Arella's very obvious displays of affection had stopped, so Raven wouldn't be in a position of saying "this is isn't what it looks like." "Raven!" Robin said. "How are you doing? Where are?"

Raven sighed and with her normal enthusiasm replied, "Hello, my mother and I are fine." She said as the rest of the group entered, "As for where we are... I don't know." She shrugged, turning to Cyborg. "Don't you have any idea?"

Cyborg continued tinkering, looking up momentarily, "It's strange, I'm getting some readings that we're... near Earth." His human eye squinted as he continued toying around.

Arella looked at Cyborg. "We are? That's strange. From what I remember learning about Earth, humans don't have the major capacity to colonize space as of yet." Robin rubbed his temples. "Maybe the portal took us into the future, and we're in a time where that has happened."

"What makes you think we're in space?" Raven asked, sitting up again.

"Well she's not wrong, the magnetic field from the Earth is weaker in space." Cyborg confirmed, "As for the future, I don't know what year this might be, or even who owns this place. The nurses seemed friendly enough though," He shrugged, taking his attention back to the group.

"Okay... well, the book mentioned something about an experience," Raven thought through, "Maybe it wanted us to experience the future? Maybe try and change it's outcome?" She offered.

"That's one thing that could very well be. But why would we want to change a future where humans are colonizing space?" Robin asked. "Maybe because they're going about it all wrong," a familiar voice behind them said. It was Starfire, and she and Blackfire had just entered the room. "Oh good, you're OK," Robin said.

Cyborg nodded, "Maybe, though I don't know if there is a correct way to do it. What if they're doing it correctly?" He asked

Raven stepped in, "Maybe we'd better figure how they're doing it now before doing anything else."

Blackfire remained standing next to Starfire, keeping one arm around her, before adding, "I've talked with one of the men here, he said his corporation terraforms worlds to make them suitable for human life. Said it was somewhere in the dozens." Blackfire then whispered, "They also have very human-like androids, with military capabilities." Cyborg's eye widened before looking around at his mechanical additions.

Starfire nodded. "He said he wants to talk to us in his office tomorrow. Which appears can only be determined on the clocks here." Arella went to a window. "It's nothing but blackness out there. And a little bit of Earth down there." They could see the outline of Africa in that little bit of Earth visible.

"Yeah... guess we are in space..." Raven said looking towards her mother.

"Well, I guess we've got some time to ourselves," Cyborg shrugged, sitting on one of the chairs at the wall. He leaned forward, "So... I guess the question becomes, do we tell them who we are?"

"You guys can, I'm not saying a thing," Terra informed him, stepping into the room and leaning against the wall near the door. "Something about this place gives me the creeps, I vote we leave immediately."

Blackfire looked at her and was about to make a snide remark before looking down at Star and deciding to remain silent.

Star pressed a finger to her lips. She felt that making remarks at this moment would disrupt the fragile goodwill they all had with Terra, and make the others hate her sister even more. "Well, how do we get out of here?" Robin said. "We don't have the T-ship, and not all of us have powers that allow us to breathe in space. I think we have to wait it out."

"We could always steal a ship..." Blackfire whispered to Star.

"Well, what do we do in the meantime?" Terra asked.

"I think it might be best to try and figure out more about this place, both this station and about the universe we're in itself." Cyborg said, looking around, "I'll try and find a place to link up with, and I'll need a place to recharge... assuming I can hook something up." He sighed, rubbing his hands together as he stood up. "I'll probably need to get on that right away, sleeping only helps me so much," he joked.

Raven remained quietly sitting on the bed, folding her legs up underneath her in an attempt to hide the fact her uniform bulged around her crotch even more than before, forcing it tight up against her.

The remaining hours until the meeting passed quite uneasily, punctuated only by meals, diaper changes for Starfire and Raven, sleeping and so on. When the time came, Michael Weyland took them all to his office. "Now, let me tell you a little bit about our terraforming process. We start with small crews that build atmosphere processors on the planet. This makes the planet's atmosphere breathable for humans, and it takes decades to actually achieve it. When that's done, colony cities are built for workers and families to live on. In time, the whole planet is covered with them."

"How do you pick the planet? Does it have to have at least some viable atmosphere?" Cyborg asked, "What about powering these machines and the colony?"

Raven remained sitting close to her mother, absorbing what information she thought necessary.

Blackfire was impressed with the human's progress in space, though she wondered what might have become of her own world during all this time.

"What about any life that was on these worlds?" Terra questioned, "And why not just stay on Earth?"

Weyland looked at them. "We choose planets that have most potential for tapping oxygen and water source, much like Mars, or the moon of Europa for example. We use hydrogen power for the machines, since the planets contain heavy amounts of it. Also, no native life is on these worlds, so no need to negotiate for coexistence. The reason Earth is almost uninhabited is because we've used up virtually all its resources and fuel, and overcrowding became a massive problem. This has become all too necessary to branch out."

Terra sighed to herself, wondering what happened to the rest of the life on Earth as a result of the consumption.

"Hydrogen? As in hydrogen for fusion?" Cyborg asked, "Or more like hydrolysis?" He asked, wondering how effective those reactors must have to be considering the luxuries like actual food instead of freeze dried stuff. Based on the artificial gravity, there must also be some other technology involved.

"What was the latest successful colony? It's been a while since I've had a good chance to catch up on things." Blackfire asked, crossing her legs.

"Both," Weyland said in response to Cyborg. "Well, our latest colony that was successful in terms of establishing itself and being self-sufficient is, or was, Hadley's Hope, on planet LV-426." Weyland pointed to it on the map. "However, we have just recently run into problems. We lost all communications with the colonists there, and as a result dispatched a squadron of Colonial Marines to investigate."

Cyborg hoped to get a look at some of those reactors, maybe he could figure out a way to have a larger sustainable power source for himself.

"Ah," Blackfire nodded, "You have your own security forces then? You haven't had any incidents with the government in... how long now?" She asked, propping her head up with one arm leaning against her leg.

Raven tried looking at Robin with a knowing look, this might be why they were sent here.

Robin shared the same look. "They're not technically our private force," Weyland said. "They're the evolution of the original United States Marine Corps, and their job is to take care of things on the colonies. Anyways, yesterday we got a distress signal from one of the Marines dispatched." He pressed a button and a video screen flashed, showing a disheveled young man with what looked like an eye patch. "Corporal Dwayne Hicks, TQ4O48215E9. Distress. My unit has suffered immense casualties on LV-426 and request immediate assistance aboard the USS Sulaco. Of the survivors, myself, two human females, one of which is a child, and a damaged synthetic. Consider all Colonial Marines dispatched to LV-426 to be KIA. Repeat, all Marines were KIA."

"Surely you don't rely on them to protect your impressive network?" Blackfire teased, hoping to get the man to reveal anything he might be hiding from them in case she needed to break Star out of this place.

Cyborg stopped all his concerns about figuring out their tech once the message played, he felt a light twinge inside him at the mention of synthetic. Non-humans were recognized as different, they weren't people, so what did that make him to these people? He turned and nodded slightly to Robin as well.

Terra shivered her arms together, she couldn't imaging having to travel to distant places in these vessels, so far from solid ground. The thought of a child needing help pushed her over though, reluctantly she poked Robin and gave him a thumbs up. She had some slight misgivings about this man, but he wasn't giving her much to work with at the moment to read his character.

"Not necessarily," Weyland said. "We do have our own security force for that. As you can tell, we'll dispatch another squadron of Marines to aid the USS Sulaco and aid in casevac, as well obtain the flight recorder and manifest." Robin saw Cyborg and Terra nod at them. "Let us go with them." Weyland was stunned.

"Only a squadron?" Blackfire asked, a little surprised and disappointed in his thinking. Didn't he just tell them one squadron had been almost entirely destroyed. Her eyebrows rose at Robin's words, looking at Star to see what she thought of this. At this point, she was stuck with the group as a way to get back to their original time and universe, so she knew to just stick with Star and do her best to not antagonize anyone else.

"Yeah, we do owe you for saving us, and it sounds like you might need some help." Cyborg backed up Robin.
