Ralph sighed.

"Heartburn is worse than indegestion, so stop being picky about it. Besides, it does cause indegestion too. And if you keep up your attitude, I'll just turn off the TV."

He turned away from her.

"Still a myth..." Sarah muttered with an eye roll as she continued to eat her food. It didnt take long to finish, then she slid the table back and resumed the movie normally, on the couch like before.

Ralph shook his head and went and got her another soda before joining her.
"Are you this head strong with your parents?" he asked her. "It's not like it'd kill you to eat at the table properly, you know."

He kind of wondered if she would accidentally show him anything he shouldn't see, but then shook his head. This was a kid, he can't think that way. He'd get in trouble. "I'm going to my room to lie down for a bit. When I come out, you will go to bed without argument.

With that, he headed to the room he was to sleep in again.

"Sure I would be, but I don't need to. Mom and Dad don't pull little power trips to emphasize their authority and they follow the rules of the house." Sarah didnt say that, but she wanted to.
"I'll come to bed without complaint if its ten," Sarah replied. "Otherwise, no." And, the movie was over.

Ralph went to his room not bothering to hear if she agreed or not. He would make her if he had to. And if she kept this attitude up, he might even have her go all the way back to being a baby and having to ask permission for everything from watching TV to getting up in the mornings.

Sarah just rolled her eyes. So, the babysitter was an ass. Oh well, she could deal with it for two more days. She turned off the TV and got on her laptop, messing around until 9:30, when she started getting ready for bed.

He came out at about 9:50, and went to find her to make sure she was getting ready for bed.

"Sarah? Where are you, young lady?"

He knocked on her bedroom door to see if she was in there.

Sarah had finished getting ready and had ten minutes left, so therefore had gone back downstairs to play Skyrim a little more. "Down here," she called, hearing him knock.

Ralph went down to where she was and smiled.

"Are you ready for bed then?"

He saw her playing the game just ten minutes before bedtime which was not something that that he really approved of, but he figured he better not say anything about it right then. He just sat in a dining room chair waiting for it to be ten so he could tak her to bed.

"Yup," she said, in her freshly washed PJs, brushed teeth, face washed. At exactly 9:59 she switched off the TV, said "Goodnight," and walked quickly upstairs, locking her door and hopping in bed.
