Captain Cruz looked them over. "We don't know what to expect. All we know is this: we came here to aid someone sending a distress signal, find the Sulaco flight recorder and manifest. But something's in there hindering us. This is a liquid situation, details to follow. Help our Marines, search for survivors, learn what you can. Ready up. Good hunting, Marines! Oorah to ashes!" "OORAH!" the other Marines said in response.

Terra sarcastically raised her hand and muttered, "Go team!" she said, following Cyborg to grab some weapons for themselves. Cyborg was the best of all of them, having had practice with his sonic cannon before, but the rest weren't too bad. Blackfire could hold the gun incredibly steady and appeared to enjoy the destructive potential they had, and did not appear to be phased much as she followed the rest of the group. Raven and Terra was capable of firing somewhat decently, though they simply detested having to use the weapons in the first place, preferring their own abilities if possible.

Soon everyone reached the armory, the other marines already having grabbed what weapon they preferred, and they started outfitting themselves.

Arella sighed a bit. "Are you just as nervous as I am?" she asked Raven. Robin picked an assault rifle to go with his work. Cruz went to them. "I'm counting on you to find out what's happening. No heroics, no bullshit, just information."

"I didn't want to worry you," she whsipered, "I think I'm glad I have the diaper on," She joked. She normally put fear about a situation out of her mind, but she did not have her proper time to mentally prepare herself and making a small joke wouldn't be the end of the world if one of the others overheard her.

Blackfire turned Star to face her for a second, looked her straight in the eyes, "No matter what happens, stay close to me." She said, before handing Star her weapon and hefting her own.

Cyborg nodded to Cruz, "We'll stay out of the way as best we can, but help when needed." He assured him, hefting his own weapon off the rack, his small portable charger attached to his hip.

(did you want them to have specific weapons? or were you thinking they end up ditching them fairly quickly, before eventually going back to them? Can you pick when the xenos come in too please?)

(They will ditch them when they seem ineffective because of the xenos swarming. Also, they'll come in when they move to cut Marines cocooned in vegetation that have unknowingly had facehuggers attack them)

Star nodded and then hugged her sister. They all approached the umbilical connecting the two ships together.

(I'll follow your lead)

"I'll go first," Cyborg offered to the group, to no objections. He sighed and began moving through the tube to the derelict ship, the rest of the group following behind him.

Robin looked around as they boarded the Sulaco. They saw several wounded Marines being tended to. "This must be the main hangar."

"I guess so, we should check the bridge first, that'd probably be where the data recorder systems are. Though the actual servers are probably elsewhere in the ship if we can't get a link from the bridge," Cyborg said. "And then of course we could just search the rest of the ship for their buddies," He added, turning around. "Suggestions?"

"I don't care," Terra stammered as she rubbed her arm, faking her confidence in the situation.

"I'll go with Starfire," Blackfire said, much to everyone's expectations.

Star nodded and smiled at her. Robin nodded. "I'll go search for survivors with Terra." BB looked up. "I'll follow Cyborg to find the flight recorder thingy." Arella looked at Raven. "What shall we do?"

"I don't know," Raven shrugged, "maybe we should double up?" she suggested.

"You two go with Cyborg and Beast Boy, I'll take Star and go with Robin and Terra" Blackfire said, assuming the humans in the hangar would be able to protect themselves given it's illumination and openness.

Arella nodded and then, holding Raven close, moved with Robin and Terra down a corridor, until they reached a pneumatic door that should have opened, but was stuck. "I need to torch it open," Robin said. Star followed Blackfire, BB and Cyborg to the server room. "OK, where's the flight recorder?"

"Let me plug in here," Cyborg said, looking for a jack-in point in the main terminal. "Gotcha," he said, plugging an extension in and projecting it onto his wrist, "I'll be a minute." He said, searching through the files trying to find the logs.

"Alright," Terra said, watching him work. Raven blushed and tried moving away from her mother a little as she looked around the hallway, finding smashed grates in a few places. 'Odd...' She thought as she backed further up towards Robin and Terra.

Robin finished torching the door and it opened. But as it did, they saw the corridor covered in dense vegetation. "What the hell is that?" Starfire looked around. "You feeling nervous, Sister?"

"Plants of some sort..." Terra shrugged as she stepped into the newly opened avenue, "maybe something happened on a terraformer?" she asked, not entirely sure what was going on, and just wanting to go back home or onto some solid ground.

"Well maybe a tad," Blackfire admitted, moving about the room and peering down the few access points into the room. "It's been a while since I've done anything with a group," She said, "keep looking around Star, don't dawdle in one place!" She hissed at her.

Robin led the way into the area. As they walked inside, there were leathery egg-like objects inside. Just then, a Marine that seemed to tangled up in the infestation began to stir. "Where am I? What happened? Hey! Cut me down, quick!" Star nodded and followed. Soon a message popped up saying that the flight recorder was missing.

"That's strange," Cyborg said, looking at the message. "The logs have either been deleted or the drive containing them physically removed," He said, looking around for a missing or out of place piece, "Maybe one of the other marine groups grabbed it?" He suggested, finding a spot that looked like contained the logs. He took a few steps before something caught his eye, over in the corner of the server it looked like a smashed hard drive. He moved over towards it before he heard something over the communicator.

"We've found a marine, repeat, we have found a survivor." Raven said in her communicator as Robin and Terra moved to start cutting down the Marine. "Something's not right Robin..." Raven said, looking around.

Terra paused in helping, intending to make a snide remark to Raven before she looked around more as well, "Eggs? Humans on the wall..." Terra stopped moving, 'No, they can't have animals this large,' She thought to herself, before saying outloud. "Uhh guys? I think we might be in a nest, this guy was supposed to be a meal for whatever is in there!" She hissed loudly at the rest of the group.

The marine groaned as he was cut down and grabbed his shotgun. Robin was stunned. "But what kind of creatures would inhabit..." Suddenly something jumped at him and he was knocked down to the ground. "WHAT IS THAT?!"

Terra immediately shot at the strange creature, the weapon kicking wildly and transmitting through the communicator along with the rest of the conversation. "It came from the shafts!" Raven said, before trying to attack the creature as well.

Cyborg brought his attention back to the communicator and away from the broken drive, "We need to go find the other group and get off of this, now!" He yelled at the other three with him.

Beast Boy quickly ran after Cyborg. Star followed Blackfire furiously to the area the others were. Robin, Arella and the other Marine, named Keyes, shot furiously. Finally it keeled over and a strange green substance shot out of its dead body.

Terra walked over to the creature and shot it a few more times in its head before spitting on it, "What the hell was that?" She demanded of the marine, assuming he knew anything about it in the first place.

Raven heard a small hissing noise as she kept her eye on the creature, "Uhh, guys?" She pointed to a small hole forming where the green liquid was, "wonderful, the monster has acid blood and jumps out of grates at us. Did you catch that Cyborg?" she called into the handheld.

"Yeah, acid blood. We're coming up to you guys now, the log data was missing." He said, looking around the hallways carefully.

Keyes shook his head in bewilderment. "The log data is gone?" Robin demanded furiously. Suddenly a sickening series of thuds in the walls echoed. "They're coming for us!"

"The drive was smashed, and I couldn't pull it from anything else." Cyborg responded, trying to safely link back up with them.

Raven instinctively moved closer to her mother and almost dropped the weapon to prepare her hands for casting. Terra on the other hand grabbed the bewildered Marine and pulled him along, "Robin?!?" She pleaded for instructions, the sounds getting closer.

Arella held onto Raven very tight, trying to protect her. Robin was at a loss for words for a bit. "We've gotta clear a path to get back to the umbilical and onto the Sephora." The walls burst and a wave of the creatures stormed in.

Raven dropped her gun and immediately started casting her magic at the creatures, to the marine's shock. Terra was forced to use her rifle as best she could, trying to aim at whatever mass of creatures Raven was not attempting to stop.

"We're almost there!" Cyborg called, he could hear the distinct noise of rifle clatter, "Get ready!" He encouraged the rest of his team.

Keyes was stunned, but knew that survival was what was important. He moved ahead first as they ran through the umbilical. Suddenly he stopped, and dropped to his knees. He turned around and they all saw something bulging out of his chest.

Terra immediately went over to the man and started shooting at it, not missing this time due to her close range.

Raven was too preoccupied with what was in front of her to see what Terra was doing. Cyborg's group reached the umbilical in the hangar and were slowly starting to make their way across to Robin's group.

Robin went to Terra's side. "What happened, Terra?!" Arella saw Raven stop in horror and then hugged her tight. Suddenly, a grenade from Keyes' pocket was accidentally primed and rolled down the umbilical. They were too far away from the Sephora to attempt to board it.

"He was implanted with one of those things!" She yelled at Robin, "some wasps do something similar to tarantulas, the babies hatch and then feed on their host." She said before Raven started pushing them back towards the other ship.

Raven did her best to isolate the group from the blast of the grenade, forming a barrier around them with the grenade on the Sephora side of them. She started to count down after the barrier formed, she first pushed Terra and Robin back to the other ship. 'Two' Her mother caught back up to her and started using her own magic, Robin and Terra turned to yell at her. 'One' She propelled the rest of group further back into the Sulaco, Robin and Terra started running with them. 'Zero'

They made it to a safe distance before the grenade exploded and the umbilical was destroyed. Robin managed to shut the hatch before the vacuum of space could pull them out. "This is not good," he said. "We're stranded here."

"I'm sure they know we're over here, things don't just explode for no reason." Cyborg said, looking around the hangar, "I wonder if those other marines made it back?"

"Worry about ourselves right now," Terra punched his shoulder gently, "How can we get back over? Are there... like escape pods or something?" She asked.

Blackfire embraced Starfire and was scanning around the hangar for more of the creatures, having dropped her weapon since the cat was out of the bag now.

Raven was trying to catch her breath and contain her fear once again.

Star hugged her sister tight, absolutely crying in fear right now. Arella rocked Raven and shushed her to try and calm her down. Beast Boy stomped on something. "Hey look, there's some kind of hatch we can get through. Help me pick this up."

Terra turned and hissed at him, "They came through the vents in the first place!"

Cyborg sighed, "We might not have a choice, they've got to be waiting for us outside there." Cyborg pointed to the sealed doors they had left the hangar from, "Let me try a transmission back to Cruz," Cyborg said, fiddling with his transmitter a few seconds.

"Shh, it's okay Star," Blackfire cooed at her, searching around the room and noting the various vents visible, all with the grates still secured in place. She remained hugging Starfire and let her cry some more, she wouldn't be able to do this when they're running. "Star?" She asked the frightened girl.

Raven quickly calmed down and tried to move away from her mother, but found herself lingering a little longer than normal before she turned around to her. "I might be a little more nervous now..." she blushed behind her hood.

Cruz picked up. "What the hell just happened? The umbilical fell apart!" Star calmed down and looked at her sister hopefully. Arella nodded and ruffled her hair. "No matter what happens, Mommy's here."

"Uhh..." Cyborg looked at Terra.

"A grenade went off, survivors may be infected with some sort of bug like creature." Terra advised, leaving out the part of her shooting their survivor and the thing in his chest.

"Star, baby, I know you might be scared right now," She cooed at her, brushing her hair back. "But I need you to try and be a big girl for me when we start going again okay? Just stay with me and I'll protect you no matter what." She whispered in Star's ear.

Raven smiled a little at her mother's ruffling before re-adjusting her hood.

"There's a dropship to escape on the other side of the ship. Find an alternate access point, vents, shafts, whatever, to get there." Starfire nodded and smiled. "OK, Sister. I'll try." Robin finished with opening the hatch. "Come on!"

"Right," Cyborg said, closing the transmission and looking down the hatch before dropping down inside it. He hoped to be able to use the weapon given to him, as it didn't drain his power, though he might have to leave it behind as it was difficult to move with it in the hatch.

"That's all I ask," Blackfire kissed Starfire's forehead as the rest of the group proceeded down the hatch.

Robin moved in front of the others as they moved down. There was some kind of "quarantine" area in front of them. They needed to go through a blast of air to decontaminate them, and then moved into other side. Robin looked inside as they saw lots of computer equipment with Weyland-Yutani logos inside. "Look at this. This isn't the type of technology the Colonial Marines use."

"Strange," Cyborg said as he tried looking some of it over, "were they transporting it?" He asked. No one responded, "There's something to this whole thing we're missing, I think we're being played." He said.

Terra's eyes flared at this realization, "I knew it!" She yelled in frustration.

Robin went to it. "Look at this. So many files in here, and they're all stamped after receiving the distress signal. Someone's been here and using all this. And they're talking about experiments of some kind." Suddenly there was a scurrying, not like the creatures, but human.

"No wonder the flight recorder data was scrapped," Cyborg murmured before hearing the noise. He looked at Robin and, using hand signals, told him to flank from the side while Cyborg would go directly through to draw whoever might be back there out.

Terra remained in the entryway to prevent anyone from leaving the way they came as Raven and Arella brought up the rear with Starfire and Blackfire.
