Even gave him a word of caution. "This might be a bit cold... I personally can't tell. Ice magic affinity, you know." He spread a gel-like substance on Ven's lower abdomen, and placed a strange-looking device against his skin, watching what popped up on the screen. "Mm-hm. The senna affected him badly indeed. Consuming so much of it in such a short time has nearly completely torn the ring of muscle that regulates bowel control. Well, Ven... if you didn't need diapers before, I'm afraid you do now."
"..." Ven started to bawl his head off, first he couldn't walk, now he had permanent bowl damage! This was way too much for him to handle as he laid there crying. At this point he looked so fragile and breakable as he laid on his side and cried into his hands.
Eraqus scooped Ven up as Even busied himself with something in a refrigerator. "Ah, here we go." said the man kindly, popping the bottle into the boy's mouth. Eraqus held it steady. "It's alright, Ven. You'll be able to walk again, I promise! It just won't be for a while, until that ankle heals." soothed Eraqus. "Three weeks at the most, probably only two." chimed Even helpfully.
Ven hiccuped as he nursed from the bottle, he looked so upset. Aiana was at the fram of the door, and had listened in the whole time. Without a word, she left.
----- The girl stood at the edge of the roof, looking at the sky. The wind blew gently as her hair flowed with it. She was very quiet, contemplating. Aiana knew that if she hadn't shown up then none of this would have happened. Tears gently rolled down her cheeks as she began to cry softly. |
A figure appeared behind her. "He's lucky to have a friend like you, you know." said the person in hushed tones. The man stepped forward, revealing himself as Braig. He sat down on the roof edge next to Aiana's feet. "I don't think this is really your fault. Did you hear that guy? He clearly had some kind of grudge against Ven anyway. And besides... If you hadn't been here, where would Ven be?" He seemed to know just what was going through her mind.
"But... They were looking for me, even before this" Aiana was recalling the incident at the mall. She looked up at the sky, blankly. Slowly she held her hand out to the sky. She had so much on her mind. what had happened to Ven, how she had somehow healed him. Everything, what was she? And why were those two people so hell bent on capturing her?
Braig smiled cynically. "I think I know at least some of what you're going through. Even was nearly killed once because of me. After that, I spent nearly two years feeling like I didn't belong, like it was all my fault. It wasn't until Even pointed out what his life, and Dilan's and Aeleus', would have been like if I weren't there that I snapped out of it."
"...I still want to know what I am..." she said as she smiled at him. She took a few steps back and then leapt off the roof. Now Braig didn't see Kayo behind him, but Aiana knew he was there.
"HOLY-" began Braig, immediately leaping after her and using his gravity manipulation abilities to attempt to slow her descent.
Something seemed to be doing that for her, a bright flash of black and white shot out from her as she was again enloped in a silver glow. Strangely, Aiana's clothes dissapeared but she was covered with the glow from head to toe. Her hair too. It was so strange, but it looked like some kind of ghost like bird flew out of her body.
