Belle woke with a start when she heard the crying in the other room. She immediately bounded to the nursery where her twins, Patrick and Amy, were sleeping.

Belle put them back in the crib, and then returned to bed. She fell asleep when seeing her husband, Adam, breathe slowly and deeply as he slept.
