Walk in Stores?
Okay, I've read a ton of stories in the past about there being AB/DL stores the characters get their supplies from. What I want to know is if any type of store like those exist in real life, and if so, what are they called?
|
a there are ab/tb stores but there probably all in big ciys like'' New York USA'' for I have only searched on the net and all the adresses are in big citys.
|
Nope, none... There are online stores like ABDLMall but no real ones... The closest you'll get are fetish/sex shops, but they'll cater to all fetishes. Most cities would run them out...
There is, however AB/DL Montreal... An AB/DL nursery, but they have strict rules to protect their location. Such as: Show up in regular clothes, change when you get there. No discussing/disclosing the location. Payment must be in full up front. No smoking as tons of people being outside might attract attention, they do however permit you to leave to smoke. No public scenes and leave in normal clothes. The site is in french but that's where I pulled the info from. Appearantly the Canadian government has been trying to get rid of them, but can't if they can't prove a definate location. |
This may just be me, but even if there was such a store, would you really buy from it? I surely wouldn't. That's too embarrassing.
|
Yup, yup
That seems to be the sentiment everywhere. Why go somewhere? The anonymity of the internet is second to none. |

I think there's a place in Vegas that sells some of these things. I could be wrong, though.

I guess I should be more specific; I'm looking for walk in store names, that way I can look them up with a store locator and see if there is any in my area.

What Kamelot said. Doesn't even have to be Walmart - just get yourself a Visa Gift card at (almost) any bank or a bunch of department stores.
The only problem you'll have then is receiving in the mail. |

lol
I meant receiving a package pf whatever she bought in the mail. I am assuming from her message that she lives with her parents. |

That's precisely my problem, hence my request for walk in store names.

I just buy what I need at the pharmacy. Alright, it's not exactly bambinos (I've heard those are supposed to be teh shit now a days), but it gets the job done, those who work there are generally nice and anonymous about the whole affair, I can usually bring along a huge bag that conseals it well, and I get a little kick out of my everyday life. Serves me and my purposes well I guess *shrugs*

There actually are quite a number of "fetish shops"...but you're usually only going to find them in *VERY* big cities...and you're probably not going to find them in the phone book or even online. Most operate simply by "word of mouth", usually in the more liberal parts of town, and more in liberal oriented cities like SF and Seattle.
There aren't too many that cater ~just~ to AB/DL interests, most cover a whole variety of fetishes, but there are some that do just AB/DL stuff. Sometimes the online adult baby stores you see will have real world places of business as well, although I've noticed a real big decline in that, in recent years. It seems most fetish shops are moving more towards operating online, since they can reach a much wider customer base...and they don't have to pay for an actual store and such. Most of them seem to come and go fairly quickly though, here for a few years, then suddenly gone, or operating under a new name. Many of them with pretty inflated prices, primarily targeting people who are new to the interest and people who just don't know any better. As far as the "references" people are talking about, I'm ASSuming you're talking about the episode "King Baby" on CSI, which took place in Vegas I believe...which is about as far from actual adult baby reality as you can get...like *MOST* things on CSI. The stuff they used in that episode coincidentally came from here: http://www.babyapparels.com Although their prices are somewhat inflated...you could make your own crib and such for *WAY* less. And there are other suppliers who make them for cheaper. |
I built my own crib out of PVC pipe. Very easy to take apart when needed. The whole job cost me about $40 and a few hours of work.
You know, if you wouldn't be too embarrassed, you can sometimes talk to the managers of stores and they may be able to order something specific for you. Otherwise you're just going to have to be satisfied with Depend or Tena (or store brands) until you get out on your own. |
AB/DL stores are rare to find, even rarer still to find one that isn't under attack by misinformed and ignorent government officials or normal people who just don't understand.
|
Ran a search and came across this: http://www.bbif.org/~bbif/FAQ/asfd-res.html#B
This is sorta what I was asking about. |
If I remember right, that list is REALLY old (unless it has been updated recently). It also still has the same problem for you - the places on there mail the stuff to you.
|
I understand your problem, and I kinda share it:
1 can't buy online cause you can't afford for it to come in the mail, 2 you can't really find a rare Ab dl store. I'm naturally paranoid, so I go out to a convenient store or walmart a couple of miles away, sure it's gas money, but at least I'm confident that I won't see anyone I know. As for the cashier, 9 times out of 10 they won't really care. Last new years I bought some new pacifiers and a new bottle and the woman was too busy talking to care. Just avoid small talk. I no that it's not quality ab stuff, but a diaper is a diaper and as long as I can hide it and it will hold a wetting, I could careless |
or the last and final option, you muster up the courage and tell your folks. But for most people that doesnt work. so go to your local pharmacy or supermarket and buy the diapers and supplies. thats what I do, and my parent knows, its cheaper, you know what your getting and you can get it under 20 dollars.
|
I live a few hours from my parents for college, though I live with a dorm mate I still go out and buy at a local Walgreens. If you buy other stuff as well and then ask them to ring up the diapers separately they may think that you are buying for someone else paying with their money instead of your own.

Never heard of one, but not sure I'd use it if there were. I get embarassed going into a vanilla sex shop. I'd probably faint.
