Acceptable List of Races
 

No, you can't pick any race for your character, unfortunately, but here is a common, basic list of races as written by the folks over at AnimeOTK:

Humans: Obviously
Inu-jin: Dogs
Neko-jin: Cats
Usagi-jin: Bunnies
Kitsune-jin: Foxes
Nezumi-jin: Mice
Kinezumi-jin: Squirrels
Ookami-jin: Wolves
Tanuki-jin: Raccoons
Kuma-jin: Bears

Note these races are all mimi-based characters, this means no anthros, full-fledged furries, etc.

Sorry, no elves, drow, orcs, or any other fantasy-based races.

Notice how they are land-mammal-based. This means you can not make mimis based off of avians, reptiles, fish, amphibians, or land mammals with large facial parts such as elephants, giraffes, etc. If there is one you would like to use that isn't on this list, feel free to ask an admin if you can use such.

Remember, how exactly your character deals with his or her heritage is an individual thing, depending on your Mimi’s experiences as much as anything else. There is a definite tendency towards instincts one would associate in the animals they so resemble in younger children, but as they grow and find more stable role models, defining and redefining themselves in the process of growing up, these animalistic traits seem to fall to the wayside more often than not.
