Within the Ponyville library, Twilight was hard at work. Her horn glowed with magic and a flat piece of old masonry floated in front of her. It was carved with a language most ponies would be unable to read but Twilight was fluent in Old Equestrian...well, not fluent but she was pretty sure she knew what it said.

"Thanks so much for bringing this to me Trixie!" She said, smiling happily as she held it aloft. "I think I can do the spell inscribed on this, actually. You do know I forgave you, right? You didn't need to give me this."

She addressed the other unicorn in the library, the Great and Powerful/Apologetic Trixie.

Trixie sat off to the side from Twilight, she wore her star covered hat, her cloak hung across a chair since she came in. Somehow she still managed to sound just a bit snide as she talked.

"Trixie knows that she did not, however, Trixie feels that she should still extend her gratitude. That and Trixie was not exactly able to read it herself so she thought you would be able to tell Trixie."

She was watching Twilight's progress with interest and jealousy.

Apparently not noticing the envy, Twilight smiled happily as she lowered the inscription and began to copy a basic translation onto a parchment with a quill wrapped in her magical grip.

"Well, I think its a spell to alter...time or age...wait, this says 'see' or I think...'perspective'?" Twilight hm'd thoughtfully. "Okay, I'm fairly certain this is spell meant to show you the past. Probably. Almost certainly."

As she worked on the translation a rainbow blur soared through the window and hit the ground next to her with a loud thud.

"Hey Twi'! Sorry to interrupt the egghead stuff but y'know you said the new Daring Do book would arrive toda-" Rainbow Dash spoke as fast as she flew, only coming to stop when she spotted Trixie. "Hey what's she doing here?!"

Trixie had been thinking about the implications of such a spell, and if she would be able to preform such a spell when Rainbow landed and rudely addressed her.

"Hmph." Trixie snorted.

"I would ask you the same. Your not the kind of pony Trixie would expect to see in a library."

"Well, one of my best friends lives here so duh! Of course I come here!" shot back Rainbow Dash. "Whatever! I came to get the next Daring Do, not argue with a- a- with you!"

Twilight's horn had started glowing as she tested the spell, her eyes closed as she concentrated.

"Well if you could not tell, something very important is going on." She said, her words sounding sharper than she really meant.

"Besides, I'm sure your book can wait. It doesn't sound very good anyway."

Trixie had seen the Daring Do, she had read one book. She wasn't to interested with it.

Rainbow's expression twisted for a moment. "What did you just say? Daring Do is awesome! But a trick-monger like doesn't know anything about awesome? See, it even taught me how to use the word 'monger'! Twilight, tell her!"

Sweat beaded on said unicorn's brow. "G-girls? Uh..."

Trixie's eyes flared. Her anger getting the better of her. "Trick-monger! Trixie is no monger of tricks. She is an experienced and talented conjurer or the magical arts!" She stomped her for-hoof once.

There was a slight glow under her hat, her emotions flaring her magic.

"Pfft, yeah right! You needed a magic thingame just to do anything like Twilight could!" Tail flicking in agitation Rainbow stomped a hoof. She smirked at how annoyed Trixie was.

The glow from Twilight's horn increased as her concentration was thrown off by another source of magic in the room, especially unfocused like Trixie's emotions were.

"I- I can't-" Her eyes shot open as she began to lose control of the spell.

Trixie was exceptionally stung about the comment pertaining to the amulet, and was quite distracted. She stomped about for some seconds blushing at the memory.

"Trixie can show you she does not need any help to out do you!" She yelled, she was worked up enough to possibly try to hurt Rainbow. Her hat was practically as bright as a bonfire from the glow of her horn.
