it was a normal day in the family dojo, and jacob was hard at work as usual, trying his hardest to master his teachings, even outside of class. though lately, he'd been pushing it even by his standards.

The headmaster walked in. "Jacob! Your giving and oepning on your left."

"heh..sorry sis. i'm on it!" jacob responded, working even harder now that she was watching.

Thorn walked to her brother. "Your improving little brother"

"improving's not quite good enough. i gotta be the best i can." jacob said as he paused for a moment to catch his breath.

"Go back to your dorm. Killing yourself with training won't help."

"but sis..i've almost got this technique down!" jacob half whined. sure he was aching all over, but he wanted to train, darn it!

"Fine. Come at me. If you can take me down you can train all you want"

"and what if i fail?" jacob asked. he knew nothing came without price, after all.

"Then you go to your room and rest."
