Padded Pet Shop (Private with iamjohndoe and Liten)
 

Blythe had just about had it. Every day when she was helping close up the shop, she would find pet droppings somewhere, and then she would have to stay late to clean it up unless she wanted the whole shop to stink the next morning. At first she hadn't done anything, because she had no idea which pet was responsible, but soon it was more than she could handle. She was going to find the pet responsible, no matter what it took. And until then, she had figured out a temporary solution.

Penny Ling waited just until her family had left before she deftly opened the carrier cage from within. It was better if they didn't know she could do that. She scurried out into the large playroom, eager to see who else had already arrived.

Pepper Clark was already out in the main area. A couple of items strewn about her, she seemed to be observing them intently enough. Perhaps she expected them to do something. The other pets who were there seemed to be going through the motions as well. Though Pepper was the only one acting unusual, if only because of the odd staring contest she was having with the toys in front of her.

Penny Ling spotted Pepper first, and she made a beeline to see what her friend was doing. But she didn't understand what was going on. "Um, Pepper? What are you doing?" she asked. Almost immediately after, the wind was knocked out of her by a warm ball of fur that collided with her from behind and threatened to make her lose her balance. She tried to turn around to see what had hit her, but she could feel in moving around on her body. Finally, a pink face dropped down from above.

"Shh!" Minka whispered, albeit loudly. "You can't break her concentration!"

"Um, okay." Penny Ling waved her arms in front of her face to get Minka off of her. "But what's she doing?"

(Yeah, it's kinda silly it doesn't do that)

Zoe was next to come up next to Penny. "Honestly we don't know, she's been staring at those toys since she got here practically. At first I thought it was part of some convoluted joke of hers, but she's been sitting there for so long I'm beginning to think that somethings wrong. Or maybe she fell asleep with her eyes open somehow." Zoe said as she sat next to Penny Ling, wondering the exact same thing.

Penny Ling walked around Pepper, taking her in from every angle. "You sure she's alright?" she asked Zoe. "Should we be getting Blythe to take her to the vet or something?"

Minka leaped up onto Pepper's face this time, hoping it would cause some change. "Are you okay? Can you just not talk? Blink once for yes, and twice for no!"

Pepper didn't even flinch as Minka got in her face. "Not now Minka, can't you see i'm in the middle of something very important. I'm. Uh. Actually, I don't remember what I'm doing, but i'm sure it's important because otherwise I wouldn't have been doing it to begin with!" Pepper exclaimed as she sat there.

Pepper was being pretty calm about this, thought Penny Ling. Especially for Pepper, and especially especially for Minka being the one bothering her. "At least you're alright," said Penny. "We thought you were, well I don't know what we thought you were."

"She was hypnotized!" screeched Minka, jumping up and down. "Who did this to you, Pepper?"

"No one Minka, I wasn't hypnotized. I don't remember what I was doing with these toys but I think it was something to do with a joke. Oh well." She said as she picked up one of the three toys. The toys being a pink ball, a little hoop, and a shiny fuzzy thing. Taking the ball in her paws she rolled it away, watching it is bounced slightly in it's journey across the room.

Minka's head bobbed up and down as she watched the ball bounce. "That was awesome! Amazing trick, Pepper! Good job!"

Zoe Trent came over to join them, stepping very carefully around Minka to avoid her. "Why, good morning, Pepper, Penny Ling. What are our plans for today?"

Penny Ling hugged her, but was surprised when Zoe pulled away, groaning and rubbing her belly. "Not now, dear. It's really not a good time for that."

"That wasn't a trick Minka, the ball can bounce on it's own." Pepper said as she put a paw to her face, noticing the slight distress Zoe was having for the moment. "Huh, why, whats the matter Zoe?" Pepper asked as she simply tossed the other toys away in the same direction as the ball.
