Coddling Clair (Private)

(Private with Kakarot)

Clair, the Gym Leader of Blackthorn City in the Johto region, was currently awaiting a challenges from anyone that decided to try and face her. She had heard from someone that a person was going to challenge her today, and that they were a strong trainer that was predicted to be capable of winning the league. Clair didn't believe this immediately, but she made sure to be prepared in case it was true and brought her strongest team. A Gyrados, a Dragonair, and her ace Pokemon Kingdra. With this team she was sure she couldn't lose.

Suddenly, she saw a trainer walking towards her. "Are you her to challenge me?" she asked them.

Matt stood at 6'1, wore a simple black and green jacket with black pants and nodded as he walked over to his side of the stadium and sighed. "A bit nervous honestly" he states. "I'm Matt, thank you for accepting my challenge for a badge" he adds.

He let out a Raichu as his first pokemon and waited for rules, or a start from the gym leader, since it was her gym after all.

Clair rolled her eyes. She didn't care much for formal introductions or her opponent introducing themselves. She just wanted to win and show them why she was the Gym Leader.
"This will be a simple three on three battle. I'll tell you right now, I'm prepared to win and only to win." she said. She quickly threw out her first Pokemon, Gyrados, foolishly believing it could win even against a type advantage. "I'll give you the first move."

"Raichu use thunder" he says fairly simply and while he appreciated the opportunity and the leader being straightforward, he assumed the Gyarados would be near fainting so he began digging around in his bag for a full restore while his Raichu shocked the crap out of the pool.

(I'm assuming a pool would have to be there for her water pokemon)

(I imagine there was one. There definitely wasn't one in the games obviously (there was just lava) but it wouldn't make sense if there wasn't one. Anyways, yeah. There's a pool.)

Gyrados's typing have it a harsh four times weakness to electric attacks, and when combined with the fact that the electricity was being amplified by the pool, the attack indeed left it already near fainting.

Clair was shocked. "What?!" she yelled out, although she really should have known this would happen.

Matt looked up and saw the still weary pokemon. "Thundershock Raichu" he states and watched the sparks fly again, then walked over to the side of the pool and with a rubber glove began spraying the pokemon. "There, that's one down miss Claire, but your Gyarados should be good as new now. I clearly won this round though" he says then turned his back to her and walked back to his spot. "What's next?" he asks.

Clair glared a bit, angry that he had managed to take her lead Pokemon out in such a simple, but effective way. She smirked though when she got out her next Pokemon.
"Go, Dragonair!" she said as she sent it out into the pool as well. "Dragon types resist electric attacks, so this time I hold the advantage."

"You would if I wasn't allowed to switch pokemon" he states as he swapped his Raichu for a Dewgong that went into the water playfully. "I hear that ice is pretty effective against dragons" he states then crossed his arms. "You're more than welcome to go first this time though" he says with a wink.

Clair growled a bit out of anger. He was able to counter her tactic rather quickly. "I'll gladly take you up on that offer." she said. "Dragonair, Dragon Rage!" she yelled. Her Dragonsir charged up for a second and then shot out what seemed to be bluish flames.

The dragon attack hit the seal type pokemon, but swimming around in the water was an easy way to wave off firey damage. "Ice beam" the trainer commanded and waited for his seal to attack the dragon. Matt generally came prepared, but the pokemon so far were not that great of a threat to him at the moment.
